Sharks to sign Snyman

Andre Snyman could join the Sharks when he returns to South Africa from his stint with the Leeds Tykes.

Sharks CEO Brian van Zyl confirmed that Snyman could be on his way back to Durban, after Bok coach Jake White offered the centre/wing a contract ahead of the World Cup.

Snyman has been in excellent form, playing on the wing, in a weak Leeds team in the English Premiership this season and White believes the Springboks need his experience at the World Cup in France next year.

“Yes, SA Rugby have asked us if we can accommodate Andre,” Van Zyl told The Witness. “We have told them that we would definitely be interested in having him but we certainly haven’t committed ourselves as yet.”

Snyman’s mother lives in Umhlanga and he is reportedly keen to return to Durban.

We saw Snyman at twickers last year shortly before the game, he must have been thankful he was’nt playing.

Commentates for Sky occasionally, but a bit wooden, Skinstad’s better, they should get Vos.

  • 66. StanReply to this comment :

    cab,
Vos hakkel. Hulle sal al vervyf het dan trek die arme man nog by die haker met n vaste skrum!

  • 67. cabReply to this comment :

he he, yeah he does a bit, stransky and naas are probably best. Mallets very good too, difficult for anyone else to get a word in when he gets going, but i dont mind that.

  • 68. StanReply to this comment :

Kan jy dink as hy opgewonde moet raak?
Hy sal soos n fokken kettingsaag klink!
Ek het op Sky vir my n paar rugby dvd’s gekoop.
Die beste is ou Bill Mclaren.
    8 stone on the hoof,
    Galloping giraffe,
He was a pretty boy before he put that paint on his face..
    Klassiek.

  • 69. cabReply to this comment :

Bill Mclaren is by far the best, yip Wahl Bartman “like a rampaging rhinocerous”.

What DVD is that i’ll look out for it?

Folks just couriered accross some of the S14 games played over the weekend, so i can watch the bulls in slowmo and see if all the hype of Piere Spies is justified.

  • 73. Lang GielReply to this comment :

Snyman het al die talent maar sy kop haak kort-kort uit. Tot hy nie iets in die Super 14 reggekry het nie, behoort Jake hom nie te kies nie. Jaque Fourie is net so sterk en vinnig maar hy het al sy varkies.

  • 74. DuiwelReply to this comment :

Be great to have him istead of
    Bobs.
    The latters game is shit;
It seems he’s given up on hard work
and just wants to get on the Train.

  • 75. CoffeeshopBok;-)Reply to this comment :

The first of many of Jakes suprises before WC time.
A good mix of youth and experience could be a winner, goodness knows we’ll need it against the All Blacks and especially the French if they on song.

  • 76. CouchRuggaReply to this comment :

He’ll be a bit long in the tooth come RWC 2007 & internationally won’t be up to the pace .

  • 77. HobboReply to this comment :

    Great News!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just what we need on the right wing. He’s always been quick with reasonable strength but now he’s a mooooonster. Typical of you guys to bring a guy down unneccessarily. Who cares what he does off the field. I don’t care if he’s the biggest prick around. What happens off the field I don’t give a crap about. This guy is brilliant and should be judged on his on field performances not how inappropriate he is off the field. What good does it do anyway badmouthing the guy like this. I’m sure you guys love harbouring all that bitterness that eats at you the more you entertain it. He’s a brilliant rugby player and that’s all that matters, he needs all the support he can get. Go Andre!!!!!!!!

  • 78. RudebudReply to this comment :

    Hobbo

He is / was a brilliant rugby player. And was one of my all time heroes.

It however does matter what you do of the field. Recent examples: James Small and Andre Joubert dropped by Kitch Christie for partying till late. Lucas van Biljon dropped for fighting. Ditto James Dalton. Same for Wendell Sailor. Danie Rossouw almost on assault charges.

All abovementioned brilliant players in their own right and time. In todays era you simply cannot play good rugby and be a complete jerk of the field who embarrass your province/sponsors/Springbok rugby. It simply will not be tolerated.

I used to like Snyman. He may still be good. He may make a comeback. He may advance the Springbok cause.

Just don’t leave your wife with him.

and you – Rudeboy – probably lost your job last week, never had a girlfriend and listen to far too much rap music, making you angry, bitter and frustrated. I pity people like you who live in the past and never see the new day for what it holds.. pity. by the way – sharkgirl probably had some action from Andre – he is known to be great in bed.. she is great for being so patient with your bs. The poor girl who alledged he harassed her, was probably upset because he did not show interest.. have you thought of that?.. no because he is a legend and legends have to be shot down by people who have not reached any goals or aspirations in life. Am I doing well with your session – you owe me £150-00 – my fee for reading your mind – lol
