Curtain falls on Calamity

Tiaan Snyman has retired from rugby with immediate effect.

Cats CEO Andy Turner confirmed that Snyman’s obvious ineptness led to the decision to call it quits.

“Since his junior rugby days Tiaan has been an excellent rugby player and it was on that basis that we decided to contract him again. Tiaan has however decided that he was not playing the kind of rugby that one would expect at Super 14 level and have therefore decided to return to his professional career as an accountant,” Turner told Suparugby.

“The union respects his decision and wish him all the best for the future. We were privileged to have a player of his stature with us,” Turner said.

Snyman announced that he had no regrets, although Cats fans would not be hard pressed to think of a few.

“I enjoyed every minute of my time as a rugby player. I never played for anything other than the pure enjoyment of the game. I started at a very young age and as a result have played rugby for close on twenty years. It is time to pursue my professional career and I feel this is the time to do it.”

I have lost count on how many games he lost cause of missed kicks

Coach, kicking was not his problem or stepping up to the plate.

i.e. Chiefs game, he missed 3 in a row, Rose took over and missed all his kicks then Tiaan step up took the kicking over and slotted 6 in a row sealing the victory for the Cats. All other aspects of his play was not up to S14 standard.

Coach, slang is something else. Yours was just a spelling error. Not that it really matters. I was just pointing it out so that you know for future reference. No offence intended.

By the time he has grandchilden old enough to be impressed he’ll be able to tell them all “I was there”. And these grandchildren will imagine that their plumb-useless grandpa actually amounted to anything!

    saffa_guy,

You can be as sarcastic towards me as and when our fanny tickles you.

Facts are facts and one standing out like a sore toe is Rose’s inability to show any penetration in a game. Besides his tackling and 10 meter at a time kicks he does not do anything wrong but just not doing enough at this level.

A talent scouts job is to search for a person who shows the potential in a certain field, what they should take into consideration though is at what level. He might even be just fine for CC, but that is jet to be seen.

If you way sub 80 you should either have explosive pase and ability to change direction like Russell or Excellent hands, bullet passes, kicking abilities, death touches with the foot, ability to read the game, like Pretorius.

And should I mention that as younger rugby players both were players of tournaments on several occasions in 7′s, highlighting their attacking ability. I do not see
