They are attracting a helluva lot of exciting youngsters just dying to get into the Sharks academy. My GLRU club side just lost our U19 Player of the year (17yr old Matric Prop/Hooker) to them and a Pirates U19 fly half that played for the regional side I am coaching has also been lured there. They are two of the most exciting youngsters I have seen for a while. There is great deal of Emphasis placed on developing young players in their academy and with the senior side already brimming with talented youngsters the incentive to play is great. I invisage the Sharks taking over from the Crusaders as the Super 14 power house for the next 5/6 years while the rest of the Unions are playing catch up with academies. Quinny,
