Cheetahs to keep it clean

The Vodacom Cheetahs will not retaliate to dirty play by the Blue Bulls in Saturday’s Absa Currie Cup final.

Erasmus told Die Volksblad that some of their opponents this season seemed to regard dirty play as the recommended tactics against his team.

The Bloemfontein-based newspaper pointed out that Richardt Strauss (cuts on the face), Jannie du Plessis (stiff arm), Kabamba Floors (head), Darron Nell (fist) and Bevin Fortuin (fist) have all been “victims” of dirty play.

“Top players enjoy a hard game, as long as it remains a clean game,” said Erasmus. “I am confident that referee Jonathan Kaplan will not allow any transgressions.”

The coach said he would also instruct his players to remain within the limits of the law.

As OS iemand raak slaan is hy DOOD!!!!!!!!!

    More Pieterman,

dit was n ongeluk toe medic os en victor uitmekaar wou haal.

    is ek reg nols?

  • 62.pieterman: Reply to this comment

    Muskadel

Ek glo dat soiets moontlik was. Maar hoekom sal n ervare internasionale speler soos Os nou doelbewus n medic wil bykom.

Ek was moontlik dronk, soos daai ou se, maar ek kan nie onthou dat iemand dit gerapporteer het of n bohaai oor so n ernstige insident iewers opgeskop het nie.

Verder, Muskadel, hoe is dinge daar teen jou berghang?

As I said before the bulls play on the edge and rugby is not for sissies. It is about absorbing pressure. I believe the cheetahs will be in the bulls’ faces early on to try and unsettle them like they did with the sharks (and the bulls did with the sharks). I also expect Rassie to appoint one or two enforcers – but not guys you will expect it from, to catch the bulls off guard.

I think the bulls have kept their composure well in the last number of matches, expecially since Gary Botha has been captain. If they can give what they receive – within the laws – I don’t think they will be unsettled again. Lobberts may play a major role here.

The team who obtains territorial advantage together with applying pressure on the opponents will win. Pressure will cause mistakes, mistakes will cause scoring opportunities. Defence will play a major role in exerting defence. The cheetahs did this well against the sharks last weekend, but the bulls have a few aggressive tacklers who i am sure will exert pressure on the cheetahs as well.

It doesn’t matter who you support in this match it will be a cracker. And hopefully the bulls will be the team to absorb pressure better.

Two players with injuries to their fists???

Sure! I’m also a victim of bullying when i went to hatfield one night and someone hit me in the fist with their face.

Just watch the Cheetahs play this weekend. They are gonna do exactly what they did last year in the final and a few weeks ago. They play rough and pick fights with the Bulls players so that the Bulls loose discipline. Thats the only way they know how to beat the Bulls. Ryno vd Merwe is gonna churp every single player untill one snaps and headbutts him in the chest.

  • 66.CC-Sors: Reply to this comment

How stupid one can be- If Rhyno is chirping- everyone is chirping,by the way- why be so stupid to retaliate? The Bully boys only know one gameplan. Their forwards want to bully their opponents. Ek het nuus vir hulle.

Sors, the Bulls players don’t understand, what chance their supporters do?

Ek het al dikwels gebreekte hande gesien na losgemale, veral as daai ou nommer 15′s van Schalk Burger ons gehark het daar op Upington!
Dennisb sal weet waarvan ek praat.

n Gebreekte hand kan op baie maniere opgedoen word sonder om te slaan.

I can only shake my head at some of these clowns…their teams took hidings but they still wanna try and shout the odds!!
One doos even said that his team WP has got nothing to worry about…is that the same “young” province team that took a klap from an “old” Bulls team??He should go read all the **** he wrote last week.(can`t believe some thickskinned/skull people!)
Both teams deserve their place in final and ARE the BEST in SA.
To run the one down shows the deep sense of frustration one have by not being able to compete with them.

he Cheetahs are the dirtiest team in South Africa. This is just a clever tactic to butter up Kaplan. Rassie is playing Kaplan like a fiddle. In the 2 Cheetah props (Ollie and Jannie) they will have the dirtiest players on the field come Saturday.

Just hope Kaplan does not buy Rassie’s bullshit.

hehehe So now Coach Erasmus is “the fiddler on the roof” ?

    hehehehe

Sorry ********! Go watch last years final again without Blue shades, matfield came from behind the Cheetah’s side with a elbow to the back of a cheetah players head. go look carefully who started the niggles.

Difference is the Cheetah’s didn’t allow it, to detract their focus.

Bulls lost the final, stop squelling like a bunch of mofs, and focus on the final, else ollie will be lighting up another Cuban

What a bunch of sore losers!!

I have heard of the “lucky bounce”, the intimidated ref, the poor linesman, fact is the Bulls didn’t close out the game, and lost as a result! Accept, see a shrink if you have to but stop, having your Bulls pity party

    couldnt agree more;

    bulls are constantly guilty of dirty play, more so in pretoria than at other grounds, almost like a gang of chickenshit schoolboys;
catch them alone and they shake in thier boots put them all together in the cauldron of loftus with 50 000 one-eyed patriots
screaming the latest steve hofmeyer song and they will bully you into submission!

If one has ever been to watch a game in pretoria, you’ll know what im talking about!

must be something in the klipdrift, or the water…

different story saturday, i think they will come unstuck.
