Redesign Keo
20 Jan 2007
Keo.co.za will undergo a redesign. Are you the one to do it?
Contact me at Keo@hsm.co.za. We’re expanding into cricket after many of you asked where the forum was to offer those opinions you never read in the South African mainstream media.
And we’re improving our rugger coverage in the biggest year since the last time the All Blacks choked.
We have some ideas, but I know there’s some passionate Muppits out there with the skills to do a job for us. Tender for the adventure of giving Keo.co.za a new look.

17 Jan 2007, 22:47 pm
To redesign I will first remove Keo’s mug shot from there and replace it with the SA Rugby magazine cover … Keo for future reference please make sure if you have to use the mug shot stays then the least ensure that that you have 2 eye-brows and not a one-brow.
17 Jan 2007, 22:48 pm
I would also add alot more green and far less yellow … yellow seems to attract to many convicts here.
17 Jan 2007, 22:48 pm
#7 that could definately work, but only the hot ones.. i mean i dont want to see ollie le roux’s face and/or body every time i log onto keo
17 Jan 2007, 22:50 pm
wp_chick,
By the way, I admire your passion for this country and to do something about it!
Excuse my rants and rages of the other night, was & still am just pissed of about certain issues that are dear to me!
Hopefully more of your generation share your enthusiasm….just don’t grab all the good jobs, leave some for my kids too!

Women = time x money
But time = money
Hence women = money squared
But money is the root of all evil
Hence women = (root of all evil) squared
Which makes women the root of all evil…..
Something to think about hey?

Die einste Wikus. Hy is heeltemal bloubul bef@k.
17 Jan 2007, 23:03 pm
Keo Old Chap,
The greatest single improvement you could make to your site would be to reverse the order of posts so that the latest post is the first shown. “IF” anyone wants to go back to the start then they can. However, a reversal would be a huge time-saver for all concerned.
It’s a very tedious job scrolling down from about 35 postings to 700 postings,
Patrick.
17 Jan 2007, 23:03 pm
….en ek….ek is sommer net befok!
17 Jan 2007, 23:04 pm
i for some reason remember years and years ago, when watching a sharks game. its was probably when ollie was making his debut for them.
the commentator gave a rundown on what ollie was like. from memory he was U21 bok colours for waterpolo and squash,,and the commentator also mentioned he has a good singing voice.

“That effectively means that Shimange, who was dropped from the Springbok squad after the home internationals last year, has in the space of just a couple of months gone from being the second best in the country to the fourth best in the Cape.”
17 Jan 2007, 23:24 pm

It all contributes to the fun and games at the end of the day…
Soos Leon Schuster se – “‘n Grap is ‘n grap, maar jy maak nie ‘n sambreel tussen ‘n man se bene oop nie”. Dit is die geval met Shimange op die oomblik.
17 Jan 2007, 23:35 pm
im thinking whether or not i should say..any nutter could read it and stalk me. we are living in dangerous times..
17 Jan 2007, 23:37 pm

Keo – simply take a look at thesilverfern.com as the perfect platform to run a bulletin board or blog for that matter. Alternates to this are gwlad.com or scrum.com.
It allows people to revisit any posts, regardless of age, and allows direct responses to individuals posting.
Having being a consistent poster for about 9 years now, and used all of them, the silverfern and scrum are easily the best format to adopt.
17 Jan 2007, 23:43 pm

17 Jan 2007, 23:58 pm
some kiwi team news,,,
the blues trounced the reds last nite. 38-9 i think.
crusaders are fielding a very new looking team with north harbour talent in next few days.
tupoki and pisi have shifted south. saders have some new guys in their #8 who i rate pretty highly. they also have andy ellis as halfback.
their new flyhalf is going to be interesting, he is very highly skilled player. who knows he could be better than carter if thats even possible.
chiefs have also got a game and too canes.
the highlanders had an internal match that hasnt been reported on.
18 Jan 2007, 00:00 am
oh by the way people. i know this is very off the topic.. but i got my first springbok supporters jersey! yay 4 me
18 Jan 2007, 00:00 am
Keo, Ikonboard is the Forum software to get and yes it will cost you to get it, but it will be so easy for you and your chosen bloggers to police it.
It has a carding system, 5 yellows gets a red card for the Bad ppl Muhaha. They have to get a new email addy to rejoin and all sorts of good stuff.
Each Muppet can make an AV and a signature.
It uses history files and and and.
Go check out ikonboard in wikipedia.
You can choose admins from the community, who police the forum while your son brings you a Beer lol
18 Jan 2007, 00:00 am
Tomsta
I am a firm believer of the fact that Carter is a better 12 than 10…yet he is the very best 10 in the world at the moment….
Maybe all our young prospective 10s should get exposure in the 12 birth first (like Frans Steyn) before making the step to the 10 jersey….
18 Jan 2007, 00:01 am
willie,,,my dad used to get hold of old steel power cable and make the longest flying foxes (foofy slides?? cant spell it right anymore), nearly 100m long across those commons. it was good times mate..all the kids around would come around and try it out.
those streets back then were so safe. we would have cricket, rugby, roller hockey games every day on those streets.
homesick,,,,naaa, just good memories

Heres a good SA Boorewors treat for all SAFAS outside SA.
Fry diced Onions till shiny, not browned.
Add Wors cut into one inch pieces.
When wors starts to brown, add Chopped tomatoes.
Add worstechire source, a few drops here and there.
Put a lid on the pan and let it simmer till the fluid gets to be a thick source and server with Fresh Bread and or Fried Potatoes.
Goog way to enjoy when weather is too bad outside to Braai

18 Jan 2007, 11:21 am
18 Jan 2007, 11:21 am
Keo,
When you do redesign, don’t throw the baby out with the bathwater.
Two of the really good things about your site are:-
1) There is little clutter. You see whats up, and you go straight there.
Too many bells and whistles detract from the “substance” of comment.
2) The dialogue flows without wasted space. Simplicity and minimalism.
Let others be a triumph of style over content.
Yours is the best—-Keep it that way.
18 Jan 2007, 11:21 am
Staal,

I’m a Bulls man actually…
I just dont like the rest of you – think you give us educated Bulls fans a bad name with your boorish, obnoxious behaviour.
Much the same that you have demonstrated here today.
Someone commented the other day about how sensitive the Afrikaner male has got lately.
I wonder why…

Oh, and keo your pic on the first page is really a bit much, almost like you want to design this business around your personality just like Tony Leon, the only difference is that you don’t really have a personality in the strict sense of the word

Sharks in preseason warm-up match
Durban – **** Muir and Rassie Erasmus, coaches of the Sharks and Vodacom Cheetahs teams respectively, have agreed to a warm-up match in preparation for the Vodacom Super 14 which kicks off on Friday 2 February. The Sharks will play the Bulls the following day (Saturday 3 February at The Absa Stadium Durban at 5pm) in their first round fixture.
The Sharks and Vodacom Cheetahs will meet at The Absa Stadium Durban in their preseason warm-up game on Wednesday 24 January, 2007, with kick-off scheduled for 6.30pm. Parking will open from 4.30pm and tickets go on sale from Monday 15 January at the Ticket Office in Walter Gilbert Road.
Tickets will cost R30 for adults, and R10 for scholars and will be unreserved seating. As a value-added bonus to Season Ticket holders, possession of their current 2007 season ticket will guarantee free entry to the game. The same applies to Suite Holders. Season Ticket holders will be seated in the Lower West Stand, while the rest of the stadium will be available to those who buy tickets to the match. Paid parking will also be available on the outer fields.
“The practice match against the Cheetahs should be a good game for supporters to come and watch,” said Coach **** Muir. “There will be 26 players per squad played in a number of chukkas, so the game won’t be about the result as about what we are trying to achieve this season.”

18 Jan 2007, 21:27 pm
shooter, rich, superbul and ‘eye hate bulls’

super rugby theme,,,,including super franchise brand signs from all 14 teams,,,,,cc theme with sa teams,,,,,world cup theme?????
i think that would rock!!!
18 Jan 2007, 21:29 pm
i just got to the office,,got a great day ahead of me…whats the trip to bloemmies for? pain or pleasure?
18 Jan 2007, 21:29 pm

How was the day (Tomsta, night in your case)….
18 Jan 2007, 21:30 pm
Tomsta 401

18 Jan 2007, 21:31 pm
Tomsta, helo,

18 Jan 2007, 21:33 pm

18 Jan 2007, 21:36 pm

Hello Boel!

18 Jan 2007, 21:38 pm
Shooter
18 Jan 2007, 21:40 pm
theme as in colour of the site, with franchise logos visible.
i know the site is predominantly SA focused but it would give slight change to appearance for the site for 16 weeks.
i wouldnt change the approach to content. but as with others i think articles should have a pinch of multimedia with them, a pic or sound bite or vid clip of a try. dont know whats involved in getting the rights to host those extras, but it could add a bit.
im not fussed about the menu layouts and the placement of them either. its standard and easy to navigate.
dont know what you reckon?
last nite was a late one? good thing we got 4 o’clock knock off on fridays
18 Jan 2007, 21:40 pm
Boerboel
Ek kan dink jy is moeg. Toemaar, vanaand kan jy bietjie rus, ons sal vir jou sorg op keo!
18 Jan 2007, 21:40 pm

I repeat…..
Tomsta for the new webmaster
Come on man, it should be fun?
18 Jan 2007, 21:48 pm
Tomsta, its a start. why would it make a dif though?
More branding? I say less branding.
Take off that silly caricature of Keo yesterday. Please.
Put anything else there. or get something Keo didn’t sketch in the mirror himself
18 Jan 2007, 21:48 pm
Groot, ek beny jou. Ek het 15 jr laas op die Gary Player baan gespeel! Bietjie ver om te ry hier van die Kaap af. En as mens met geleende stokke speel is dit net nie dieselfde nie.
18 Jan 2007, 21:49 pm
Foook, I always make the same mistake, at Sun City this weekend…… I went gambling AGAIN, knowing I have no luck…… so I made my donation as usual again!

Topic: Hendrik Meyer
Source: Supersport
“Talented centre Hendrik Meyer has turned down the opportunity of playing World Cup rugby for Namibia because he wants to represent the Cheetahs in the Super 14 competition.”
and
“As far as I know I can never play for the Springboks (because he has represented Namibia) but it did not affect my decision.”
Pity he can’t play for the Boks, he is definately a future star…….
18 Jan 2007, 21:54 pm
yeah shooter i know what you mean about the branding.
willie bro, im happy in my job
and dont think keo would be thinking of flying and covering the costs of relocation for a techie.
cheers for support, but its not my thing, i prefer the hands on interaction i get in my HR field.
18 Jan 2007, 21:57 pm
Tomsta
Why don’t we go into rugby coaching….I will move to NZ and then we give food poisoning to all the teams we coach….
18 Jan 2007, 21:57 pm

but coaching is a sweet dream that i cant shake.
18 Jan 2007, 22:02 pm
Keo sounds like a bit of a stingy bugger, saying the job does’nt pay much ect…..
But be warned, pay peanuts and you’ll ge ******* working for you, Keo!!
18 Jan 2007, 22:03 pm
OK guys, I will see you a bit later…..
Viel SpaB!!!
18 Jan 2007, 22:04 pm

18 Jan 2007, 22:06 pm
seriously tho,,what would a job like this pay in SA?
ive no idea of IT payscales in nz but am searching now…
18 Jan 2007, 22:07 pm
cheers willie
18 Jan 2007, 22:08 pm
I would hazard a guess at R 20 000,00 plus, with benefits, at least, otherwise you’re shooting very low!
18 Jan 2007, 22:11 pm
My Techies & Network Staff, as well as Reps all get relatively small basic salaries but huge incentives, I believe they should be able to write their own cheques…. the more and smarter you work, the more you earn!
No cumfort zone, pure adrenalin!
18 Jan 2007, 22:16 pm
im guessing thats per month? ive never worked in sa, so am not sure of basic.
over here an unexperienced IT job could be around $33,000 a year. with a few years exp easily more than $50,000 a year.
18 Jan 2007, 22:18 pm
What’s the NZ Dollar exchange rate against the fookin Rand??
18 Jan 2007, 22:19 pm
….a month , yes!
18 Jan 2007, 22:21 pm
umm, i think its either very close to 5 or just over? trying to find out
18 Jan 2007, 22:23 pm
4.8959 to 1
18 Jan 2007, 22:24 pm
GBS,
1.00 USD
United States Dollars = 1.43692 NZD
18 Jan 2007, 22:25 pm
hahaa, that was my banks exchange rate…the international rate is 4.98100
so im not really making too much Rand in my currunt graduate role.
18 Jan 2007, 22:28 pm
Ahhhhh then,
You see, my guestimate for the Keo Webmaster (rather senior IT post) should offer no less than R 20 000,00 a month… = R 240 000,00 a year…. = NZ Doller 49 000,00
18 Jan 2007, 22:28 pm
Tomsta
You must look at selling/buying ratio, then you see how much you lose
18 Jan 2007, 22:30 pm

18 Jan 2007, 22:32 pm

Ek het. Die krag was mos ook omtrent oor die hele land uit vandag……laat ek liewer my bek hou. Ek sal geban word hier!!!!!!!
18 Jan 2007, 22:39 pm
What position did I play?
I was an openside flank, fetcher of note!
Played till I was 25, that was 1989
18 Jan 2007, 22:47 pm
nice,,i played 8 in SA then both 8 and blindside in nz. ruined my knee when i was 20(2000 season) and havent played since.
i was tried at open while on a tour to gold coast, and was utterly smashed while catching the kickoff by phil waugh who was in a nsw rep side at that tournament. didnt get another chance to play open again after that.
18 Jan 2007, 22:49 pm
hello all you beautiful people
18 Jan 2007, 22:50 pm

Hi Guys and Girl, I think I’m out of here. The connection is too bloody slow. It must still be a hangover from the Eskom outages.
18 Jan 2007, 23:03 pm
hahahaaha,,,,the old cauliflower ears….if you got some tape on, its not that bad…..just getting them drained takes care of them for a bit.
u know at scrummie you have to be an arrogant chop, tuning the ref and the other halfback for 80minutes.
18 Jan 2007, 23:06 pm
cheers boerbul
18 Jan 2007, 23:06 pm
arrogant? that sounds easy enough..
18 Jan 2007, 23:08 pm
Cheers Boel!
…..the arrogance of the youth…..easy enough for a youngster like The Cape Kid
18 Jan 2007, 23:09 pm
people from cape town are born arrogant. its cos we know we live in the best city in the world..
18 Jan 2007, 23:11 pm
of course i did play rugby in my younger days.. the only rules being “no going for the eyes”
18 Jan 2007, 23:12 pm
hahaha all saffas are arrogant. me included. a bit of arrogance is good thing tho.
are you folks aware of the touch rugby world cup going on at danie craven stadium? id love to be watching that.
18 Jan 2007, 23:12 pm
They come out the birth canal……peep around….. then tune the mother “hey old lady, surf’s up……. did you see how I goofie-footed it outa you….?”
18 Jan 2007, 23:14 pm

thats a no holds bar sport. easily the dirties sport ive play.
cape town is prob in top 5 most beautiful cities. it has incredible natural beauty.
18 Jan 2007, 23:15 pm
waterpolo is not my sport. but i know its way brutal
18 Jan 2007, 23:15 pm
which nation has the most arrogant people?
saffa, aussie, pommie, nz?
18 Jan 2007, 23:16 pm
the aussies are worse than us!
18 Jan 2007, 23:17 pm
Americans, then Ozzies, then Pommies, then the rest!
18 Jan 2007, 23:19 pm
Cheers Mr Aucland & Miss Teen Slaapstad
18 Jan 2007, 23:19 pm
but us capies are the most arrogant in the country
18 Jan 2007, 23:20 pm
cheers oom, lol
18 Jan 2007, 23:22 pm
i dont find americans arrogant,,i find them plain stupid..ok i guess that is covered by arrogance
id say american arrogance stems from their inability to realise that a world exists outside their borders. ive met some wanker yanks,,but also a few really nice down to earth americans.
id have to rank them, pommie, aussie, yanks, kiwis
18 Jan 2007, 23:26 pm
cheers oom
18 Jan 2007, 23:29 pm
aussie above pommie
18 Jan 2007, 23:29 pm
its wierd that capies get such a bad rap…most ppl ive met from up country joburg way are so far up themselves.
the provincialism in sa is still unhealthily strong,,so much hatred about still.
18 Jan 2007, 23:30 pm
Good evening fellow muppits ;o)
18 Jan 2007, 23:31 pm
the reason provincialism is so strong is because of isolationism. plus the transavaal and the free state were republics at first. some hatred could stem from there
18 Jan 2007, 23:31 pm
hey SFS
18 Jan 2007, 23:32 pm
southfields,,,been a while bro…howzit
18 Jan 2007, 23:32 pm

18 Jan 2007, 23:35 pm

they sure know how to party
18 Jan 2007, 23:36 pm
its windy? whatss the temp down these days?
18 Jan 2007, 23:38 pm
Tomsta
Yeah, windy in an understatement!
4 people killed today by falling trees and walls!
Its not cold at all for this time of the year but they say Mon is chilly. Its about 10/11
18 Jan 2007, 23:40 pm
are you joking about people being killed by walls?
18 Jan 2007, 23:41 pm
hey 10/11 thats not bad at all. quite pleasant actually for a london winter season.
weather is going nuts everywhere.
seems like nz will be getting its summer starting late feb. it still hasnt really warmed up here. still high teens or low 20s.
18 Jan 2007, 23:42 pm
True as nuts Wp chic.
18 Jan 2007, 23:43 pm
WP chic
What area of CT you in?
18 Jan 2007, 23:43 pm

18 Jan 2007, 23:44 pm
im in the southern suburbs
18 Jan 2007, 23:45 pm
yep,,dam carbon emmissions and too many cows letting off!
18 Jan 2007, 23:45 pm
I see, i have been told that where i sould buy a place? Anyway.
You havent had a chance to take a trip to Stellies to watch the touch rugby world cup?
18 Jan 2007, 23:46 pm
i think our govt is looking at imposing regualtions to restrict carbon emmissions,,but dont know any details there?

18 Jan 2007, 23:47 pm
are they playing international touch,,,,the 6touches? if so,,i had no idea SA had caught onto that yet!
18 Jan 2007, 23:48 pm
i think that the best thing is by improving public transport. less people will use their cars
18 Jan 2007, 23:48 pm
Yeah Tomsta
World Cup 6 down touch.
SA is more 1 touch but we do play 6 down leagues as well
18 Jan 2007, 23:49 pm
naaa, our labour govt is ok with the escalating crime it seems,,and our butch PM was touted as having a look into a top UN position not too long ago,,but saving the world from this bottom corner could be a mission.
18 Jan 2007, 23:53 pm
nz has same prob with trying to improve public transport. it is a difficult task when the infrastructure is not their to support it because of poor town planning years ago.
we have major roadworks on the go, looking at relieving peak traffic with a bus highway alongside existing highway.
nz badly needs rail, but it just cost too much for govt to see it as viable.
18 Jan 2007, 23:55 pm
gotta say i prefer the 6 down as its more of a workout, and more team strategy.
18 Jan 2007, 23:56 pm
tomsta, have you travelled by taxi here in SA? i havent, but i hear its not that good. the train service is awful. trains come like once an hour over the weekend
18 Jan 2007, 23:58 pm
520#
Would have to disagree with you on 6 down been more of a workout Tomsta. 1 touch is so much faster an expansive, throwing the ball around and making plays off one movement.
6 down is good in executing a strategy. I just have a problem with it as here they play the touches and not the situation?
Otherwise both are great games!
19 Jan 2007, 00:00 am
the last time i was in sa was 2002,,caught 2 taxis,,and both times they didnt really stop so we jumped out while it was still going….those taxi vans are bad.
2 german girls a flew into cape town with had a bad experience with a booked taxi through their hotel,,charging too much and not even taking to where they wanted to go.
i know how bad the trains are in sa. i used to catch 3rd class from diep river station to newlands for school. it was way interesting everyday. often late for school in those days coz of late trains.
19 Jan 2007, 00:01 am
you travelled third class? wasnt it awful?
19 Jan 2007, 00:02 am
and dangerous? you were in school
19 Jan 2007, 00:03 am
1 touch is explosive for sure. its great quick games. i find 6 touch is more continuous, and you are running a heck of a lot more. ill play 1 touch down the beach anyday of the week, but will gladly play 6 touch for a solid hour with the guys on a reserve.
19 Jan 2007, 00:04 am
Yeah i play both. Recall the boarding school days of touch before dinner. It was like clock work
19 Jan 2007, 00:06 am
yep 3rd class keeps you on your toes. was held up by knife by 7 guys. thankfully i knew someone they knew and got out fine. seen some guys get thrown off the train at full speed during fights.
growing up in southern suburbs has some good and bad points.
19 Jan 2007, 00:08 am
hahaha,,and then the bell goes and the guys that are starving bolt?
i used to stay after training and play some of those games with the boarders,,was good fun.
19 Jan 2007, 00:09 am
#OMG that is hectic. ive only travelled 1st class and the worst that happened was there wasnt enough sitting place and we had to stand. o and waiting an hour for a train. that was horrible. you are so brave. id have needed therapy
19 Jan 2007, 00:10 am
yip us boarders.
School life was good!
Tomsta, sounds like you have had your share of some rough times!
19 Jan 2007, 00:13 am
so you live in cape town, but pretty much arent part of cape town?
not making a dig at you,,but a lot of ppl are completely shielded or not aware of whats going on everyday..
i enjoyed living and doing the things i did in cape town,,but i knew that when the opportunity came to leave for a safer environment i couldnt miss it.
19 Jan 2007, 00:15 am
i wouldnt say i had a rough time. i wasnt having experiences like that daily,,those were just a few times.
what boarding school u go to SFS?
i was at bergvliet primary and then went to high school at SACS
19 Jan 2007, 00:16 am
maybe thats why i dont want to leave. i dont really experience real crime (please dont ever let me). i get the best bits
19 Jan 2007, 00:17 am
a sacs boy! lol
19 Jan 2007, 00:18 am
wats your opinion of SACS?
19 Jan 2007, 00:18 am
Im a JHB boy, went to KEPS and then KES. Boarder as well
I have had my fair share of hair raising moments in SA, I will be back though. Been all over and there is no place like home!
19 Jan 2007, 00:19 am
nothing, just i know SACS boys.. those types of schools. all the same. no offence to sacs
19 Jan 2007, 00:20 am
is JHB jeppe?
and KES = king edwards?
cant remember now
19 Jan 2007, 00:22 am
JHB – joburg
KES – King Edward VII School

Just a quick hello….
19 Jan 2007, 00:24 am
hey willievs
19 Jan 2007, 00:24 am
I was just about to ask where you were Willievz
19 Jan 2007, 00:24 am
ignore me yeah
19 Jan 2007, 00:25 am
ive got very mixed opinions of SACS. i was mostly an outsider at SACS. never really got on with the snotty nosed tossers from rondebosch, newlands etc.
i found the school instilled this unhealthy perspective that if you went to the school you were already great and deserved to be treated like a king. i totally didnt agree with that philosphy.
what i did take from sacs was an appreciation for tradition and manners. what i learnt after the transition to my kiwi school, was that sacs didnt really have a good learning environment. and to preach bullshit to kids that they are better than what they are and others around them becoz of their sschool was BS!
19 Jan 2007, 00:26 am
welcome back willie

i just know on the levels of former modelC schools, SACS was very close to the top. i was somewhere in the middle, possibley lower end
19 Jan 2007, 00:30 am
Not to generalize but most private schools have that stigma…some of them derserving
19 Jan 2007, 00:31 am
which stigma?
19 Jan 2007, 00:32 am
Tomsta – you feel alot safer here no doubt, the bays is a nice spot to live, just moved from St Heliers to Remuera myself.
How many SA’s on the Shore now – I heard around 40,000 – surely not though?

19 Jan 2007, 00:35 am

19 Jan 2007, 00:35 am
#548
i just did
19 Jan 2007, 00:35 am
model C school = govt school?
was funny that most capies thought sacs was private. they had so many athletes and academics start their and bishops would offer them free schooling. hahahaa intense rivalry

i think the 40,000 number is for whole of nz. the north shore number is around 28,000.
i was in the mini SA, browns bay for the last 8 years, but just before xmas moved to kohimaramara, right onto the beach.
is heaps safer here, but things have changed since 98 when i got here.

Ciao Willievz
Muppits are dropping like flies.
Might call stumps as well
19 Jan 2007, 00:54 am
remuera is a big suburb. there are some nice streets yes. i guess its considered to be upmarket yes.
auckland seems to have quite a few areas that are upmarket. some on the north shore, out east and also west, remuera is central.
laterz folks
19 Jan 2007, 01:07 am
Tomsta – nah, not me, dont own no shop bro!
Kia Kaha translated means “Forever Be Strong”
Evening all – or morning here in Auckland
19 Jan 2007, 01:10 am
Tomsta – Yeah, liking the Chiefs this year, but will still support the blues all the way.
Nice win for the chiefs over Wellington – see Martin Johnson, ex England captain was there watching them train the other day, he quite often comes to NZ for holidays
19 Jan 2007, 01:49 am
kiakaha
nice,,thanks for translation.
yeah didnt johnson play some rugby here a long while back?
who would you have as your blues midfield?
luke and ice could be something special, but you cant deny the class of tuitavake. and i reckon the blues will be serious contenders this year without lavea. in my oponion he was not able to get his backs going at all. hopefully the chiefs use donald as first choice 10.
19 Jan 2007, 03:23 am
Sorry mate, popped out for a ale with some mates for lunch!
Lavea was the downfall alright – shows how much Carlos meant to the side.
Tuitavake/Luke/new boy Smith on the wing etc, with Devine at half looks solid enough, with plenty of flair.
In the forwards it could be a mixed bag, although many has been AB’s are still on teh scene, and if Nucifora’s finally allowed to coach his way, we could see some upsets – expect the first one against the Crusaders !
Martin Johnson played down the line in King Country around 1991, made the NZ u19 side that year too, damn, we nearly had him, a great player, bit of a thug at times too, but arent they all?
19 Jan 2007, 04:25 am
its a dead set requirement for the engine room to be able to hold your own. hence im stoked that robinson has made a return.
i would without floating on clouds say that the blues for the first time since carlos be good semis contenders.
they have finishers outwide. atinga can cover fullback,,so can toeavo. i think holwell will be the catalyst this season, he is extremely steady, and with flair from luke, tuitavake, david smith unleashed it could be a glimpse of the blues of old.
the loosies could be pushed against most opposition, with braid not really up there. nick williams suffering from 1st season blues still, kaino repeatedly injured. the locks look to coverd with ali, and kev and the bunch up front are strong.
i hope blues are ready to set the tournament alight this time. the competition needs them.
good luck to nucifora, the pressure is on.
19 Jan 2007, 05:52 am
All good calls Tomsta, nothing more to add, other than I hope alot more Aucklanders and harbour supporters get along and make their voices heard, we really need to leverage off the home town advantage.
Now, what are we going to about the cricket team……??
19 Jan 2007, 06:57 am
Ig, where is the Russel thread where everyone was talking on last night, it seems to have just dissappeared?
19 Jan 2007, 07:17 am
Why when scrolling down on the main page the articles about working and redesigning keo is posted again?is it because keo’s name is in the heading?
19 Jan 2007, 09:32 am
Only have 1 suggestion: Would be good to have a section where we can initiate a topic for discussion, at the moment you can only discuss existing articles.

Kiakaha Martin Johnson spent a total of 18 months in NZ on a working holiday in his youth(and ended up marrying Colin Mead’s daughter). He is not a Kiwi and is as English as they come.
19 Jan 2007, 11:46 am
P.S Tomsta NZ public transport is mediocre but nevertheless South Africans who visit think it’s fantastic as it’s so much better than what is available in SA……
Another statistic that blows my mind ….. 1400 South Africans killed on the roads in the Dec/Jan holiday period…… second worst road toll in the world after China where road rules don’t exist. In the NZ the Dec/Jan holiday toll was 9. What is happening in SA???
19 Jan 2007, 11:50 am
How good a lock will Martin’s Johnson’s son be given his genes??
19 Jan 2007, 12:52 pm
He may be a great lock one day Delek——but he will not be a handsome one.

I suggest a blaklist where people who dont stand good for their bets can be shamed …
Dawn can be 1st on it.
19 Jan 2007, 13:49 pm
Murph,
Dawn has also been nominated as the the first topless, “Babe of the Week”.
She will be “The Babe that Launched a 1000 Erections”.
Not bad for someone on the blacklist.
19 Jan 2007, 13:57 pm
‘Launched’ or ‘Lynched’ ? … just checking your spelling
19 Jan 2007, 14:06 pm
Bringbacktheboks,
Not sure. Surprised the post is still there.
Of course I hope I did not offend anyone, especially Dawn, who we all adore…….and hope retains her sense of humour………and I am not lynched by Ig or the “New Guy”.
19 Jan 2007, 15:15 pm
Delek, its called Karate Juice or Dop to most Saffas, that and the fact that a heck of a lot of drivers on the road have bought their licences on illegaly. If we had good public transport systems such as the UK we would also have a hell of a lot less drunken morons on the road, yhus less deaths. Also the fact that we have to drive far and people dont rest properly as well as the testosterone element…in short I think we have the worst road death figures per capita on planet earth, that 1400 figure is a good year for us as well…I have to drive home now, wish me luck…
19 Jan 2007, 16:13 pm
603: cane – good luck mate.
604: Agree : think those who don’t know SA battle to understand how there can be so many ‘bought’ licenses / illegal drivers / vehicles, etc.
Also, the thoughless ones who drink and drive : although in UK they have seriously big expensive campaigns to combat that too – as its also a problem.
Well, even that good public transport in uk (ala london underground) claims quite a hefty number of lives too – from those poor passengers falling, pushed, or jumping in front of them – ironically and coldly called “one under”‘s by staff
( !!!
Somehow I think the same system in SA would be claiming a lot more lives.
But guess SA will/can never have simialr transport : there’s just not enough people per sq mile to justify it.

Comment for Keo and #65 KiaKahaNZ
Although the format that solverferm.com use is some of the best formats that exsist. Many of the top sites that offer forums make use of the specific standard. I agree it makes provision for members to contact ea other and also for subject related stuff to be grouped together.
Only problem is, it is very time consuming and one looses the spirit of the specific thread, such is avail on the current format of keo. If one could reach a solution halfway between the two. The other forum just have far to many threads and this will cause members to loose the discussion chain/thread/interacation such is the case currently on keo.
20 Jan 2007, 09:47 am
#251 Shosoloza : bout adding something blue to the site, made me think: Perhaps in redesigning the site, the following could be added to make it interesting:
(Keo, are you listening)
Include the following in the posts : The member’s current City and Country (eg Auckland,NZ) as well as the team that he supports, maybe a small logo or otherwise just a word ie Sharks.
20 Jan 2007, 10:02 am
I can only offer my personal and professional opinion and strongly suggest that it’s a Must to redesign- boring colour scheme and lay out and having one picture of a hobbit on the website just doesn’t do it man, maybe we should have more animated pictures from the Lord of the Ring.
20 Jan 2007, 10:04 am

A cricket site would be AWESOME, it’s time Graham Smith took a bit of flack as well, he is damaging SA cricket, even more so than JS is damaging SA rugby
20 Jan 2007, 23:28 pm
606. Time consuming – need to upgrade your net connection if thats the case, and things remain as topical as there ever are – ie, its good to park things for a while and then return when issues are updated etc.
This site is a basic blog and in need of much improvement, even the original version of scrum.com had more flexibility than this site.
