Bok squad announcement delayed

Due to the Sharks and Bulls likely involvement in the playoffs, the Springbok training squad will only be announced on 12 May.

The group was due to be announced on Saturday after the Bulls-Reds fixture, but a request from these two franchises to Saru has seen the date pushed forward a week, allowing these teams to focus on the Super 14 competition.

The announcement will take place after the second semi-final next Saturday, and the bulk of the group should be made up of Bulls and Sharks players.

*** was the last thing i expected to see on this blog. Lets hope the Sharks and Bulls don’t look stupid should they lose which is highly unlikely.

#4 Very true! But I reckon after the SA tour he will convince his wife that he m ust go to the WC. He is just playing his cards right. She gonna think, “oh what a darling, he is willing to put it all on hold for me and the twins” She’ll then feel guilty that her hubby will lose out on a world cup attempt and give him the go ahead to play. haha

Waiting to see how many of them will get broken in the semi final war?

The AB’s sickbay is getting full now, when I saw Chris Jack go down last night my heart sank as he is about our only lock still standing at present – we may be forced to play Rawlinson and poach some more saffas at this rate!

    How about Williams? Flavell? Robinson?

Williams just needs to work on his temper. He is a better player than Jack, except for when he gets riled up. Jack is a good locking partner for Ali though, Jack just seems to be calm, and maybe thats why Ali plays better for the All Blacks than when he does for the Blues.

Eaton was the only one of note to be injured. Ryan would’ve struggled to make the squad, competing with Robinson, Flavell and Rawlinson.

I felt that with a bit more gametime Ryan had the potential to be a starter. He looked very promising a year ago but hasn’t had enough regular time on the paddock for ages.

Eaton is a 4th loose forward in the open play and as good as anyone in the set pieces.
This was meant to be his World Cup to shine in.

Williams has been in and out of the conditioning and sick bay and even when he is OK he isn’t getting a start.

As things stand I would play Flavell (since he seems to have cured his brain explosians whilst in Japan) and Jack (who also hasn’t impressed since returning but we know what he is capable of).

Robbo would be good against the Boks as he doesn’t tolerate any of their aggro nonsense but seems to be able to keep on the good side of the ref at the same time.

Just another excuse to include more useless players ala bob.

The announcement of the Bok team has been delayed because the team, as selected, hasn’t passed muster with the ANC regime’s “transformation” auditing panel.

I think the Tackler is on the right track.
This smells of politics to me.
    Let’s see….

naa, bru. the team announcement is likely to dissillusion a number of s14 final players so best to wait.

the question is, will the bulls play full out. tacitus reckons they rule the earth, but only by ripping the reds a new bum hole and smashing them by 70 points will they prove it.

    g’night all.

I wonder why? My opinion decision made purely on emotions not rational. We talk of professional rugby players so we say.

By this sort of a decision we are in fact confirming that is not the case because those omitted I assume would feel bad and perhaps not concentrate on the job at hand.

With the money they get paid I would say each and every player should by now know what they are capable off and rugby owns them nothing.
