Chiefs wary of ‘Waterboy’
The Chiefs will be keeping a close eye on Brumbies kingpin Stirling Mortlock when he returns to action this Friday.
Mortlock will play his first match of the season in Canberra after serving as the team’s technical adviser-cum-waterboy in the past few weeks. Mortlock has been recovering from a shoulder operation as a result of an injury at last year’s World Cup.
Chiefs captain Mils Muliaina believes Mortlock will need some time to get back to his best, but said his side cannot afford to underestimate the Wallabies centre.
“He’ll be caught short on match fitness but he’s been running pretty hard for six weeks. We need to stop them getting momentum with our tight five. We have to stop him getting the ball.
“We hope he’s underdone but he’s a class act and I’m sure he’s been working hard in the last couple of weeks. I have no doubts he’ll be right.”

Canes change at centre for Sharks
The Hurricanes have made one changed for their match against the Sharks, with centre Tane Tu’ipulotu replacing Tamati Ellison.
The Canes have stuck with Piri Weepu at scrumhalf ahead of the in-form Alby Mathewson, but assistant coach Aussie McLean wants a better performance from the former All Black.
“We all know what his potential is, and hopefully he starts reaching his potential soon,” McLean told Radio Sport in New Zealand.
“He’s not playing as well as he can, but he’s not far off.”

Mauler – very optimistic when playing against a forward pack with 6 All Blacks on their home turf….. i think it will be tougher than you think.

Sharks tight 5 stronger than Canes. Collins awesome! I think there will be great challenges from the back 3 though. I hope Keegan’s mobility count against those big guys!

So far, Michalak hasn’t got the better of ANY oppo he’s played so far in the S14……I think you’ve bought a has-been dud. I don’t think Michalak will last the game out after he’s had a few maulings by the Hurricanes back three. I don’t think he has the bottle,

This is by far the biggest challenge to date for the Sharks…
The Canes are tough and have attacking ability from from deep…but they are up against a team that haven’t even moved into second gear and are unbeaten…i reckon the sharks will be good for a bonus point against them…
Gone are the days that SA lost most of their games overseas…Thanks to GH…

Nota,
I’m a terrible predictor of results but I have the feeling that the physical confrontation will blast the Sharks off the park……I could be wrong but they’ll have to develop real STEEL to knock off the Hurricane Bully Boys,

You have 2 teams in the top 8,one of those teams hasnt even been on the road yet and they are starting now,lets just see.
