Albie aids Chennai victory
8 May 2008
Albie Morkel scored 30 and took 2-35 to help the Chennai Super Kings to a last-ball win over the Delhi Daredevils.
Morkel opened the bowling in the absence of Makhaya Ntini and did a good job in the circumstances as his team conceded 187 runs in 20 overs. Morkel also claimed the prize scalp of fellow South African AB de Villiers, who he bowled first ball.
Morkel then smashed 30 of 15 balls in the run-chase, including three consecutive sixes off Virender Sehwag, until he was run-out.
This effort helped Chennai break a three-match losing streak as they got the runs off the last ball of the contest.
Delhi 187-5 in 20 overs (Gautam Gambhir 80, Morkel 2-35)
Chennai 188-6 in 20 overs (Stephen Fleming 44)

the Royal Challengers SUCK big time – because Kallis, Boucher and Steyn are in the side, I decided to support them. The team spirit is poor, leadership – non-existant and Boucher batted too slowly last night to give them a chance of a win.
I’ve watched many of their games and think that they are piss poor.

They are not a good team for the 20/20 version of cricket, but I think they would’ve done well in the 5-day version.
Have your say
