Cheetahs favour consistency
Naka Drotske has retained his starting XV and will utilise Jongi Nokwe from the bench.
Nokwe was expected to return in Sunday’s fixture in a starting capacity, and given Danwell Demas’s messy display in Perth the Cheetahs certainly needed the class out wide. However, Nokwe will play from the bench in Brisbane with Demas holding onto his starting position.
Corne Uys is over his concussion and will join the reserves allowing Piet van Zyl an extended run at No 13. Hanno Coetzee and Bjorn Basson drop out of the match 22.
Cheetahs – 15 Hennie Daniller, 14 Danwel Demas, 13 Piet van Zyl, 12 Jaques–Louis Potgieter, 11 Fabian Juries, 10 Meyer Bosman, 9 Tewis de Bruyn, 8 Frans Viljoen, 7 Juan Smith (captain), 6 Heinrich Brüssow, 5 David de Villiers, 4 Nico Breedt, 3 Jacobus Roux, 2 Adriaan Strauss, 1 Wian du Preez.
Subs: 16 Richardt Strauss, 17 Kobus Calldo, 18 Wayne van Heerden, 19 Hendro Scholtz, 20 Sarel Pretorius, 21 Corne Uys, 22 Jongi Nokwe.

Fcks sake! Just picked Nokwe for my fantasy team and now he’s on the bench! How is Demas any better than Nokwe?! Send Jongi to the Sharks, he really is wasted at the Cheetahs along with Nontshinga.

#5 Crouching Tiger Hidden Bokke: He was out injured for a long time and will play his first game off the bench…simple really!
Having said that, could have picked my Gran to replace Demas and it would have been an improvement!

#6 Koos: Hi Koos, i know the Cheetahs are your team and they play well but the signs are looking good for the Reds, They should play well at home, Cooper is showing more maturity and the forwards with Braid and McImmemem will be well organised and tough, I hope its a better spectacle than what was described in this story

#7 SAussie/QldRed: SAus, you to polite, my team sucks and is only good to get close to other poor team. I fear when we actually plays a team not fighting it out for the wooden spoon
To date we have played the Lions and Force and lost both…looking good helps for nothing!
The Reds actually have a few good players and I expect it to be a matter of time before they actually gets it together.

#8 Koos: Koos you and I have talked our respective teams down to the low tide mark of the Luggage Point mud flats (where the Brisbane sewage used to discharge for those not familiar with Brissy geography).
For good reasons I might add but I have backed the Reds to win by more than 10 on Sunday.
As an aside this is a classic example of a S14 game that would have been a whole lot more enjoyable for spectators to watch at the old Ballymore ground, taking in a few beers under the stand and on the hill before, during and after the game.

#9 Clyde Wombat:
Clyde, its a very tough fight for underdag status, make no mistake! Unlike you though, I did put my money where my mouth is and backed the Reds as well…

Reds to put the ball behind Demas a few times.

#12 Hop Hop Spinnekop: Why behind him, any place close to him should do the trick…

#12 Hop Hop Spinnekop: Very pleased to see Demas playing after his outstanding defence catching and postional play last week against the Force.

#14 Clyde Wombat: He is very fast…
February 27th, 2009 at 8:52 am
Demas is also “fast asleep”
