Michalak back for France

Michalak back for France
Toulouse star Frederic Michalak has been called up to the French squad for the first time since the 2007 World Cup.
The 26-year-old, who has failed to regain favour with France coach Marc Lievremont since returning to Toulouse from his stint with the Sharks last year, will replace injured scrumhalf Sebastien Tillous-Borde.
Lievremont has made it clear that he sees Michalak as a scrumhalf, despite Michalak’s preference for the No 10 jersey.
Forwards: Sylvain Marconnet, Lionel Faure, Thomas Domingo, Fabien Barcella, Dimitri Szarzewski, William Servat, Jerome Thion, Sebastien Chabal, Lionel Nallet (c), Louis Picamoles, Thierry Dusautoir, Imanol Harinordoquy, Julien Bonnaire.
Backs: Frederic Michalak, Morgan Parra, Francois Trinh-Duc, Florian Fritz, Yannick Jauzion, Mathieu Bastareaud, Damien Traille, Julien Malzieu, Cedric Heymans, Maxime Medard.

High time too. Lievremont has been dicking around with the French team as if he has no idea who his best players are This excuse of building for the 2011 RWC is bs. Picking Benoit Baby to make his flyhalf debut in a test match? Ridiculous.
Lievremont would do well to take a leaf out of Jake White’s book. Jake identified his core of players right at the start of his stint as coach and added players over four years but the core remained stable. If France wants to be a serious contender in 2011, Lievremont has to settle his squad now.
Actually he should already have identified his core last season.

Good to know that Michalak is back in the French squad. Played well at the Sharks in the CC.

Forward Pass Freddie, the most over-hyped S14/12/10 player ever.
Sharkies already had a good 10. Why did they bother?
Good money down the drain pipe.

#5 cane: So what did you think of Carlos just out of curiosity

#5 cane: They sure missing him now. But agree not all he was made out to be in S14. Was a lot better for the Sharks during the currie cup though.
#6 Bok fan: Know you not asking me but Carlos was brilliant at S14 level. He also took us apart in a couple of test matches.

#7 Corndog: Agreed Carlos was and I just felt Michalak was starting to find his feet in the super14 when he got injured. Took him a bit longer than people were expecting. Like you say he was starting to show his worth in the currie cup.
Super stoked that my Bok choice for 10(Pienaar) has finally got the sharks jersey though

#7 Corndog: Michalak also took us apart in a couple of tests matches: remember the one where France drew with us in 2005 summer tour (Michalak was awesome that day) or the one where France beat us 26-20 in november 2005(Michalak was again outstanding that day).
