Go Dragon Guy

that backline looks pretty weak – even the bench is cr*p.
keep it amongst the forwards boys otherwise weepee will get an historic win over you.
9 Jul 2009, 14:13 pm
Does anyone have the Province team yet? If they start anyone even remotely decent in mid field the sharks are in trouble.
9 Jul 2009, 14:16 pm
#3 Original Pierre: Not a bad midfield. They have both played quite a few games for the sharks.
Will be at Newlands in my black and white!!
9 Jul 2009, 14:17 pm
whatever happened to scott spedding?
9 Jul 2009, 14:20 pm
About as **** as the province side! is this the best the two unions can come up with?
9 Jul 2009, 14:25 pm
Even the Lions would stand a chance against this lot.
9 Jul 2009, 14:25 pm
Please post the province side?
Cape Shark I don`t know, Andries Strauss? Is Murray out for the season?
9 Jul 2009, 14:27 pm
Very good team this , feel sorry for my team. First game first lost for us.
9 Jul 2009, 14:28 pm
Not a Shark supporter, but Riaan Swanepoel has impressed me. Solid center.
9 Jul 2009, 14:28 pm
#8 Original Pierre:
Check ‘Ricky gets game time’ thread, it is an old one, towards the end of the main page.
9 Jul 2009, 14:28 pm
Guy has big shoes to fill. Back line looks a bit weak.
9 Jul 2009, 14:30 pm
#8 Original Pierre: apparently he will be back in two weeks which should bolster the back line.
9 Jul 2009, 14:30 pm
#9 Andre_WP: Not over till the fat lady sings. Will be close.
9 Jul 2009, 14:32 pm
#14 AGTEROSKOMOOKINNIEKRAAL: it will be close but rek sharks will have a chance at pipping province
9 Jul 2009, 14:34 pm
#15 byoboy: Think so too, but you never know. Haven’t seen the WP side yet.
9 Jul 2009, 14:35 pm
#5: Did some googling about that the other day and found him in the Brive line up….
9 Jul 2009, 14:35 pm
Thanx BYOBOY that should help us out. Riaan is okay I think, maybe not spectacular but solid enough. Andries Strauss gives me an uneasy feeling.
Joe Pietersen, Frikkie Welsh, Morgan Newman, Peter Grant, Sireli Naqelevuki, Willem de Waal, Ricky Januarie, Luke Watson (captain), Pieter Louw, Pieter Myburgh, Anton van Zyl, Chris Jack, Brok Harris, Tiaan Liebenberg, Wicus Blaauw. RESERVES: Hanyani Shimange, JD Moller, De Kock Steenkamp, Deon Fourie, Dewaldt Duvenage, Juan de Jongh, Tonderai Chavhanga
Now we can compare apples with apples.
I think it`s pretty even with Province maybe edging ahead in the backline but the sharks forwards should be able to cancel this out.. .
9 Jul 2009, 14:38 pm
#17 Smellthis: pity, we can’t seem to hold on to and develop quality flyhalves
9 Jul 2009, 14:38 pm
15 Byoboy….not too sure about that, look at how provence performed against the B&I lions compared to the sharks performance………..
9 Jul 2009, 14:40 pm

#19. superbowljoel: Burton Francis, Brummer, S Ebersohn, L Cronje, G Cronje….lets hope these guys come through.
9 Jul 2009, 14:44 pm
#18 Original Pierre: no worries boet, I think the if the sharks forwards perform and they stick to a tight game plan they should just do it, but yes it will be tight and WP back line is ahead of the sharks back line
9 Jul 2009, 14:46 pm
#26 Smellthis: Burton Francis plays for the Bulls!!!! has been since last year….
9 Jul 2009, 14:46 pm
Well , hope it’s a nice and dry day down there comes Saturday. Forgot to ask Alister what the game plan is
Well to be honest i think Province will give them a go. Should be a good game.
9 Jul 2009, 14:50 pm
#22 EEE: It will be tight, I think if the sharks use there forwards they should just win. Yes there was a difference in the scores but that’s coz the B&I managed to subdue the sharks forwards which I don’t think WP will be able to do.
9 Jul 2009, 14:53 pm
#7 katman: I take this back. I’ve just seen the Lions team thread.
9 Jul 2009, 14:56 pm
#31 katman: So mnr , it’s that time of the year again. Looking forward to a good season. Lets hope our teams make it this year.

Sharks have developed 2 pretty good flyhalves in the recent past, but both of them are now in the Bok team.
Does this mean that the Sharks are doing something wrong?

A man who has spent the last 40 years in a coma has finally come round to the dismay of medical experts.
”We were one day away from putting an end to it all” said Professor Eggwell-Fryed, senior consultant at the Lordaffmercy Hospital in Durban.
”The nurse walked in and found him sat up in bed wondering what in the hell was going on? We explained to him he had been in a coma for 40 years and in that time Nelson had been released. The Springboks won 2 world cups.. the Bulls won the S14 again.
Professor Fryed told reporters ” I asked him if there is any you can remember from 40 years ago before you went into a coma
He replied
Is Albert Van Den Berg still playing for The Sharks ???

#33 jonnow: I meant south africa as a whole, since honnibal no-one has really been outstanding. Im not slating butch – he was good, solid – but not a marquee playmaker.
9 Jul 2009, 15:06 pm
#36 superbowljoel: i think ruan has the skills to be great, we just gotta see how he performs against the best.
9 Jul 2009, 15:06 pm
Mmmmmmmm Dare I dream. WP could surprise Saturday.
9 Jul 2009, 15:07 pm
#37 superbowljoel: and he’s gotta do it consistently
9 Jul 2009, 15:09 pm
#34 PaulLondon: Hey you have to give him marks for Longevity!
#29 Andre_WP: Cold front hitting CT on Saturday, they are predicting lots of rain!
#20 EEE: Have you compared the Sharks side that played against the B&IL and this one? We had Dumond at FH for goodness sake
9 Jul 2009, 15:14 pm
Sharks need to have a bit more depth in the hooker dept, burden is just about average for currie cup and skipper is just kak. he keeps throwing the ball skew in the lineouts (must be following the line of his nose) and misses his jumpers half the time and doesn’t do too much else around the park.
Sharks need some spare wingers and centres as well
9 Jul 2009, 15:16 pm
#39 superbowljoel:
How are you brother Joel?
9 Jul 2009, 15:19 pm

#45 superbowljoel:
Must say, been here for a while now, and have not noticed that.
9 Jul 2009, 15:53 pm
Do the Sharks really think Chris Jordaan is a decent winger? Surely there’s someone better at the club level??
9 Jul 2009, 15:57 pm
Does anyone know if this Cronje guy can kick? Sharks are up agains de Waal and he`ll play to the corners all afternoon. Then WP just have to pile on the pressure and wait for our inexperienced backline to make the mistakes. But Plum would`ve told them that right . . . RIGHT?
9 Jul 2009, 16:01 pm
#48 Original Pierre: We can only hope Plum would’ve told them. Kockott is a really good kicker both out of hand and for posts, in fact he is the Sharks first choice kicker. But Saturday will have to be up to the Forwards for the Sharks – Worried very worried!
9 Jul 2009, 16:04 pm
OK side, not exceptional by any means.
Stefan, whilst having the season of his life defensively in the S14 this year, is terribly one dimendional.
Same goes for Ndungane, they offer absolutely nothing on attack. I hate seeing any 14 and 15 getting caught by flankers, just not good enough.
What about that Mvovu guy? He played well against the BI Lions not long ago, one of the few players who did.
Also, would someone please tell me what value Monty Dumond gives to any side? He is the personification of average and should be relegated to club level immediately.
