Where on earth did Province Find Frikkie Welsch,why do these idiots continue to sign has been or rejects like Frikkie Welsch,Wylie Human,Gcobani Bobo(the 2nd slowest wing on earth)& Hilton Lobberts just 2 mention a few.As a Province supporter such signins really baffle me…………..GO Province!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sharks also have divided interests into other areas sch as investments, fucntions, merchandising, photo royalties etc etc etc.

So they make money from the Season tickets 28000 @ 1000 ave, get x percent from SARU from TV etc etc.

They have big money in SA terms. The Bulls are doing even better financially I believe.

Anyway, here is on about playing the Sharks tomorrow:

Western Province coach Allister Coetzee says it is the performance of his team not the result that will determine whether he leaves Newlands with a smile on his face after their Currie Cup opener against the Sharks on Saturday.

“In every competition it is obviously important to start well, but the result is not the be-all-and-end-all. We just want to try and get the cohesion going and although the first 20 minutes will always be a bit nervy, we know we can’t predict the result and so it’s not our focus at all. We just want to ensure that we put into practice all the systems and processes we have been working on and then go from there.”

I hear that the Ebersohn brothers are in hot demand right now.

A quick question… how much money does the Bulls and Sharks have (left). I am sure that to maintain the contracts of MANY of their players is costing them an arm and a leg. Despite the fact that they have had a lot of recent success and (near) sell out crowds at most of their games…

It sounds like Sias and Robert will come as a package deal, and that will only increase the payroll. You cant spend money you don’t have. And even if they have it, how much are they willing to spend?

Anybody any ideas?

#52 sparticus: Too strong, mmmm. I don't know. If the WP forwards can score some parity in the tight phases the backline could be able to do some damage. Seriously. In the backline the Sharks have two or three players that are arguably better than their WP counterparts. Loosies is a big plus for the banana boys, and so is the props. But for a team that won the CC last year, I would not be resting to surely if I were the Sharks...

Have no clue how this young chappy plays was good in the U19 last year, actually they beat the WPU19 last year in the final, and saw him for 10 mins against BIL looked good but what can you tell in 10 mins?

OK side, not exceptional by any means.

Stefan, whilst having the season of his life defensively in the S14 this year, is terribly one dimendional.
Same goes for Ndungane, they offer absolutely nothing on attack. I hate seeing any 14 and 15 getting caught by flankers, just not good enough.

What about that Mvovu guy? He played well against the BI Lions not long ago, one of the few players who did.

Also, would someone please tell me what value Monty Dumond gives to any side? He is the personification of average and should be relegated to club level immediately.

Does anyone know if this Cronje guy can kick? Sharks are up agains de Waal and he`ll play to the corners all afternoon. Then WP just have to pile on the pressure and wait for our inexperienced backline to make the mistakes. But Plum would`ve told them that right . . . RIGHT?
