Southland edge Steamers

Southand lead the New Zealand Cup table after downing Bay of Plenty 19-12 on Friday.

Flyhalf Robbie Robinson kicked five goals from five attempts to secure a well deserved victory. Joe Tuineau scored the game’s only try, while Mike Delany contributed all 12 of the Steamers’ points (four penalties).

In other NZ Cup action, Tasman beat Waikato 23-9. Centre Andrew Goodman scored a try, kicked two penalties and two conversions for the hosts.
