#4 Viscount Crouchback: You'll get over it Vicount. Don't see anyone complaining about this summer's Ashes victory. Soon only the guy bringing on the drinks will be a home-grown toff. Saints also had former Bulls hooker Brett Sharman on the bench. He qualifies as English too. I met him on the train back from Wembley to Richmond. Wouldn’t it be nice to see more than half the English team comprised of SA and NZ converts?

Ernst Joubert had a great game – Man of the Match. Much better than Wickus, who had a miserable afternoon to be honest.

It is disconcerting to see so many South Africans playing in the Premiership. I don’t mind the odd Anglo-African chap – a Barritt or a Stevens or a James – but I mind profoundly this horde of barbarous Germanic types whose names trip no easier from the tongue than algebra from a newborn babe.

Let’s see how these flighty high veldt chappies cope in the mud and cold of a good old Blighty winter. Let’s see if Schalk Brits is still so keen to scamper down the wing after he’s been pummelled for sixty minutes in the scrum by a classic English yeoman like Julian White. Let’s see if Brendan “Barking” Venter is still parrotting his happy clappy nonsense when his chaps have been spanked all over Kingsholm by Glaws.

Yes. Let’s wait and see, chaps.
