Southland secured a 14-6 victory over Counties Manukau in Pukekohe on Thursday.
The Stags’ flyhalf Robbie Robinson was prominent once again, kicking a penalty before half-time to take his team to a 8-6 lead. Robinson kicked two more penalties to bag the result.
In other New Zealand Cup fixtures played on Thursday, Bay of Plenty ran out 24-13 victors over Tasman in an ugly game played in Mount Maunganui.
