Tindall concern for Johnson

England’s injury woes continued as Gloucester lost to Sale 28-23 at Kingston Park.

Centre Mike Tindall left the field after 16 minutes with a recurrence of a hamstring injury that has plagued him for the past month, and is now unlikely to play for England against Australia next week. His replacement Charlie Sharples was sent off for a reckless challenge as Charlie Hodgson kicked 23 points to secure Sale’s victory in the Premiership.

Meanwhile, in the Magners League the Ospreys and Glasgow drew 9-9, while Connacht defeated the Scarlets 16-10. Connacht’s South African prop Brett Wilkinson, who has been elevated to Ireland’s squad, got a yellow card, but his side still managed to achieve the win.
