Holyshit, that was the most surreal, nightmarish thing. It was straight from a Leon Schuster candid camera prank. I was expecting him to whip off his wig at the end, laugh and point us in the direction of the camera.

Kurt Darren couldn’t have fcked it up more than that, and he’s capable of a real mess (e.g. the Mandela concert in London where he sang Joanna with Eddy Grant, falling about between Menlopark English and pretend Caribbean).

The worst is that last week Boots ‘n All showed Supersport reporters, Xola Ntshinga and Matthew Pearce, singing Requiem in perfect two part harmony in a Toulouse cathedral. They were right there, next to the field – surely they must have thought, “that should have been us”.

I didn’t hear the anthem and for the sounds of everything i am glad i didn’t but in all honesty where were the springboks why didn’t they front up? and putting a specialist tighthead on as a loosehead what were they trying to prove?

If you call yourself a singer then you should be able to do more than just ‘hit a few right notes’.

Let’s call it for was it is. Disgraceful.

I’ll tell you what’s even more disgraceful, many people’s reaction after the incident. Blaming france for everything in the world, but then again we tend to be a shift-the-blame country so that should be expected I guess.

I am aware of the fact most people do not appreciate classical music with today’s pop-culture, but at least you’ll know what music sounds like when a genius is behind it.

Did anyone else notice the French player, I forget who it was, trying some football antics? He was getting up after a ruck and grabbed Habana’s leg, pulled it into his head in an attempt to make it look like Habana kicked him. Surprised Barnes didn’t fall for it.

Still not sure about Steyn’s yellow card though…

Any idea on the penalty count?

Where is the accountability?
Yesterday Keo co za published here on this very blog the following:

“The French rolled out a trio of reggae stars to sing Nkosi Sikelel iAfrika, and what followed was a complete mockery of South Africa’s national anthem”

Today it is:

“According to Jo Maso the South African embassy chose the singer of South Africa’s national anthem in Toulouse on Friday night”

I think Keo needs to appologise, in the first place, that rag tag clown who ‘sang’ the Antem is no Johnny Clegg, what was the criterion governing his selection?
