Albi shock champs
21 Nov 2009
A penalty five minutes from time ensured Albi defeated Perpignan 24-23.
Albi scrumhalf Kevin Boulogne made the kick that handed Albi their second win of the season, although they stay bottom of the log, while the defending champions remain top.
All of Perpignan’s South African players were missing, but Albi had little-known lock Crisjan van der Westhuizen starting.

What’s with these SA expats winning 24-23?

#2 stormer in a teacup: Saracens is now 50% owned by South Africans, so logical that many South Africans play for the side. Management and Board feature Brendan Venter, Morne Du Plessis and Francois Pienaar. More a home from home than an English club, methinks.
