Wales down Pumas
Wales produced an impressive performance as they beat Argentina 33-16 at the Millennium Stadium.
Wales dominated the first half as they were up 13-3 at the break. Pivot Stephen Jones scored all the points as he scored a try, conversion and two penalties to secure a 10-point lead.
Centre Martin Rodriguez slotted a three-pointer for Argentina’s only points of the first stanza.
Speedster Shane Williams grabbed a second half brace to put the result beyond doubt and to cap off a good performance by the home team. Jones added seven points with the boot and wing Leigh Halfpenny also contributed with a long-range penalty.
Argentina failed to trouble Wales as they couldn’t find the composure to build more than four phases in attack often enough and several defensive errors and ill-discipline saw the home side score the necessary points for the win.
Rodriguez managed to add some respectability to the score as he scored all 13 points for Argentina.

Clearly the Argies aren’t good enough to join the 3N.

#1 TheTackler: Jinne, your level of doosheid knows no bounds. Australia lost to Wales last year poephol – are they not good enough to play Tri Nations?
The Argies came 3rd in the World Cup 2007, beating France twice, dont forget.
#2 grant10: He had a good day today. He doesnt always, like a real class winger like Habana who never has a bad game

#3 bokfan1: NZ hasn’t lost to Wales since 1953, so they’re definitely good enough for the 3N.

Popham (Wales #6) was great today – should have been the Lions #8 in their tour earlier this year
