Sarries stay top

Saracens retained their unbeaten record in the Premiership with a 22-6 victory over Wasps at Vicarage Road.

For the second match in a row all of Sarries’ points came from South Africans, as Schalk Brits scored an early try followed by Derick Hougaard adding 17 points with the boot to cap off a great week for the Watford club.

In other results on Sunday, Marco Wentzel’s Leeds squandered a 17-3 as they went down 24-17 to Sale.

London Irish suffered a shock loss to Newcastle 15-11, as Jimmy Gopperth kicked all their points.

Before the weekend, Saracens, London Irish and Wasps were the three top teams on the log. After the weekend Saracens has an increased gap at the top. Nice position to be in.

WP, could be saffacens, except there were only 5 saffas starting today, so sarries are back to their normal team (mainly english)

The EOYT is the perfect time to select NH based South Africans, because they are fresh during this time of the season.
