Blacks flog sorry France
28 Nov 2009
New Zealand were very impressive in their 39-12 victory over France in Marseille.
The French seeked to base their challenge around brutality at the tackle point and flair in the backline. However, with the latter being so reliant on the former, they struggled when they found an All Black side unwilling to take a backward step in contact in general play or at scrum time.
Furthermore, the French defensive line looked decidedly porous at times, with the likes of Dan Carter, Sitiveni Sivivatu, and Ma’a Nonu slicing through with alarming ease at times.
It underlined the fact that France had shot their bolt with their strong performance against the Springboks, and the Blacks were never forced to shift into fifth gear to negotiate their challenge. Graham Henry’s charges comprehensively outplayed their hosts in all facets of play, and finished their year-end tour with a morale boosting win.
The early exchanges suggested neither side were going to be afraid to get width on their attack, with France the more expansive, if less effective, of the two.
However, it would be the Blacks who would be the far more clinical of the combatants, capitalising on the majority of the opportunities they created in the first half, and racing to a 22-9 lead.
They breached the goal-line first, with their first threatening foray into France’s 22m. They rumbled up into the red zone, shifted the ball wide, where Sivivatu shrugged off the challenge of Vincent Clerc to score.
Carter converted, but France scrumhalf Julien Dupuy kicked two more penalties to go with an earlier three pointer to stay in touch.
Then a vintage moment from the Blacks, as they counter-attacked from deep in their half in a move that culminated in Sivivatu turning provider for Mils Muliaina after a break down the touchline.
Carter missed the conversion, but not long thereafter the Blacks extended their lead when they shoved the France scrum over their tryline, and Jerome Kaino was on hand to apply downward pressure for the try. Carter made no mistake with the conversion.
France were on the ropes, their counter-strikes being easily repelled by a well organised defensive line. Their inability to unlock the Blacks off set or general play forced them to seek other routes of point collection, and in this regard they had to be content with a Francois Trinh-Duc drop-goal.
The Blacks would have trotted down the tunnel the more content of the sides, enjoying a comfortable 10-point lead. Carter increased the buffer with a penalty 10 minutes into the second half and at 25-12, France would have been acutely aware that they needed to be next to cross the whitewash to drag themselves back into the contest.
Dupuy missed his second penalty of the half to compound their woes. Cory Jane then produced a wonderful piece of individual skill to hand off his defender then chip and collect, all within the confines of the tram tracks out wide, and you sensed it was all over.
Carter converted to take the score to 32-12, and when Conrad Smith broke around an unguarded blindside to score with 10 minutes left, the French looked utterly deflated and accepting of their fate.

28 Nov 2009, 21:42 pm
That must make GotnoLand at best the 19th best coach from NZ. I am interested to know what will happen when he tries to go back to Aotearoa. Will his passport be cancelled and he will have to live in the airport like the movie?
28 Nov 2009, 21:46 pm
Thanks I did that but it is Justin Tv.

holy ****, ABs are All Whites.
28 Nov 2009, 21:52 pm
By the way it is a fortress Marseille. The only visiting team to beat Frogs here were Pumas.
Go the All Blacks … ermmm…. Whites! ;D
28 Nov 2009, 21:53 pm
that haka was hectic, both teams seem pumped up!
28 Nov 2009, 21:55 pm
@Nils:
It’s the B&W Minstrel Show!
Sounds like the AB lost the Haka?
28 Nov 2009, 21:55 pm
I don’t like the Haka… when I was little I used to make fun out of them… and now I feel like hiding behind my… well dad when he’s there but if he’s not then it’s my cousin
28 Nov 2009, 21:55 pm
@AiDoc: who are better than Gatland? (just curious)
Ok, Deans. Maybe, just maybe Henry (not sure). Who else?

France had great opportunity to score.
28 Nov 2009, 22:04 pm
and they messed it up completely.
28 Nov 2009, 22:06 pm
French do field goals as well as the 2005 Lions. 49,999 attempts scored ling. ( Note ling = zero in Mandarin)
28 Nov 2009, 22:08 pm
@Nils:
Perhaps they are using the GotnoLand method? Wales can’t score either. Even though they think they are SNAGS and lay under their ewes. The truth is that thwey hide under their ewes (girlfriends)
28 Nov 2009, 22:09 pm
@AiDoc: “Sounds like the AB lost the Haka?”
It has lost a bit of appeal to me. I’d like to remember how guys did it in 90s and early 00s with jump in the end (like in Adidas advert). But if you see haka about 10 times every year, it’s not that impressive anymore, I guess, more routine creeping in.
28 Nov 2009, 22:10 pm
@AiDoc: Australia were just too good for them. Sometimes Wales may be on the roll, but overall Aussies are better than Welsh, despite having about n-times less professional players.
28 Nov 2009, 22:11 pm
by the way, it’s 7-6 now. Game is rock’n'roll there.
28 Nov 2009, 22:11 pm
@Nils:
14 times so far this year!
28 Nov 2009, 22:11 pm
NILS
I am watching the game on the iraqgoals site you mentioned. I would like to know how you came accross this site.
28 Nov 2009, 22:12 pm
@Nils:
Smith was as good as I have ever seen and the kid that he replaced was awesome.
28 Nov 2009, 22:13 pm
@AiDoc: Even worse then.
By the way, the ABs should have been dropping like flies with … ermmm….. FATIGUE now.
(as Boks have played 12 times, and are reportedly overworked).
28 Nov 2009, 22:13 pm
@savethespringbok: Sodajoe mantioned the link.
9-7 France, by the way. Arghhhh.
28 Nov 2009, 22:14 pm

28 Nov 2009, 22:14 pm

28 Nov 2009, 22:16 pm
@savethespringbok:
It keeps asking me for money!!
I will watch it tomorrow after I have downloaded it from acrossthetasman.
If you want an invite send me a private message. It has all the rugby, league, cricket and even ozrules.
28 Nov 2009, 22:16 pm
scoooore!!! 12-9
28 Nov 2009, 22:17 pm
MilsSSS
28 Nov 2009, 22:17 pm

28 Nov 2009, 22:17 pm
Go France. Looking good even after Mils try
28 Nov 2009, 22:17 pm
They are not all whites. Black pants and socks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
28 Nov 2009, 22:18 pm
ouch, missed. 12-9.
Anyway, ABs smell blood. France are in for a massacre.

@AiDoc: eh?
28 Nov 2009, 22:21 pm
@Nils: tyvm
28 Nov 2009, 22:22 pm
ABs look comfortable here. Every time they get into Frogs zone, they look like scoring.
bar huge upset, ABs should win this game by at least 10.
28 Nov 2009, 22:23 pm
That Smithy guy, who gives comments from the sideline, is as intelligent as an English referee! I love the guy who used to jump in the lineout though. Kaino?
28 Nov 2009, 22:23 pm
now this is a rugby game, not a lot of unnecessary kicking!
28 Nov 2009, 22:23 pm
@ad_oz: “tyvm”
Even more confusing. English is not my native language, even not second one.
28 Nov 2009, 22:23 pm
Carter penalty 15-9
28 Nov 2009, 22:24 pm
@Nils:
bar huge upset, ABs should win this game by at least 10. ????

28 Nov 2009, 22:25 pm
Frogs are torn to shreds. Lucky to escape another try.
28 Nov 2009, 22:26 pm
NoNuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu almost!
28 Nov 2009, 22:26 pm
@AiDoc: Maybe 30 (if gates open up). I still slightly fear those Frogs, they can turn it on like nobody does.
28 Nov 2009, 22:27 pm
@ad_oz: It works for you?
TRY ABS AGAIN! 20-9
28 Nov 2009, 22:27 pm
@ad_oz:
Must be porn or nonsense about the Da la i La m a so it is firewalled!!!!!!!
TRY Kainoa!!!!
28 Nov 2009, 22:27 pm
French suck. Quite well actually!
28 Nov 2009, 22:28 pm
Controversial try, I might say but nevertheless France are ready to be roosted and served with an apple in their mouth.
28 Nov 2009, 22:28 pm
@Nils: no it full on works. better quality than justin.tv
28 Nov 2009, 22:28 pm
22-9, here come French fries.
28 Nov 2009, 22:28 pm
@Nils:
All you have to do is cook their legs!!
28 Nov 2009, 22:30 pm
22-12, Frogs dropkick. 35th min.
45 mins to get clean sheet for 2 straight NH tours.
28 Nov 2009, 22:30 pm
@Nils:
Barnes was searching for a forward pass in Cardiff tonight, the first he has ever seen, unfortunately for the GotnoLanders, he spied one that was not!
28 Nov 2009, 22:31 pm
@Nils: And I do not mean clean sweeps, I mean no tries conceded in Europe since that sorry night in Cardiff in 2007.
28 Nov 2009, 22:33 pm
@Nils:
Hey English is not my first , second and ad nauseum, language either, but my Chinglish and Jinglish are not too bad.
ps Nobody was a Queenslander
28 Nov 2009, 22:35 pm
Why can’t the Bokke beat the Choirboys? Hell their best result against the MIB was foot and mouth disease!
28 Nov 2009, 22:35 pm
22-12 NZ half time
Like in Cardiff at half time Wales were just 11 points behind Australia yet completely outplayed (3 tries to zero).
28 Nov 2009, 22:36 pm
Hell it’s only half time?
Reminds me of 1987. Whenever that was!
28 Nov 2009, 22:37 pm
@AiDoc: Which is your first, if it is not a secret?
My first is Latvian, followed by Russian. English I learned in my 20s.
28 Nov 2009, 22:37 pm
@Nils:
Rubbish its 12 – 22
28 Nov 2009, 22:38 pm
@Nils:
Rubbish its 12 – 22 and that’s nothing to do with ESL.
28 Nov 2009, 22:38 pm
Sublime rugby by NZ.
What a contrast to the pathetic high kick and charge stuff dished out by the Springboks.
28 Nov 2009, 22:38 pm
@AiDoc: If you support the Frogs, then it is exactly like you said.
28 Nov 2009, 22:38 pm
@AiDoc: what is ESL?
28 Nov 2009, 22:41 pm
@Nils:
Putong hua (Mandarin), Guangdong hua (Cantonese), Shaghainese (Shaghai hua), Italian, French, and a few others
Latvian is a little like Russian or German?
28 Nov 2009, 22:42 pm
Frogs will go out with all guns blazing now. I feel that ABs should tame them and if it happens, they are deservedly on the top of the pile again.
28 Nov 2009, 22:43 pm
@Nils:
English as a second language.
There is no third language. All, apart from first, are second.
28 Nov 2009, 22:43 pm
anyone have a live stream for the game?
28 Nov 2009, 22:45 pm
@Robzim: i agree fully robzim, fantastic display by new zealand! You gotta love it. Pity in our country it is called “helter skelter”…did you see the 2nd try, they started in side their own 22!
28 Nov 2009, 22:45 pm
Great to see both teams moving the ball by hand. French look dangerous when they move it, but the AB’s seem to have sorted out some tactics that make them even more dangerous. Who knows what is happening in the scrums?? Started with the French looking dominant, ended with the AB’s getting a pushover.
28 Nov 2009, 22:45 pm
@captain fantail: iraqgoals.net/3786-rugby-wales-vs-australia.html
28 Nov 2009, 22:46 pm
@Nils:
No, the home team is always recorded first unless you are of an inferior dialect, which means American devalued English dialect.
28 Nov 2009, 22:47 pm
@AiDoc: Yes and no. It has some words from both of them (7 centuries under Germans and last 3 centuries under Russians bar 20 years in the independent First Republic (1918-1940) till Soviet occupation and now 18 years independent again since 1991) yet this language is completely different from them.
It is a Baltic language with the only relative left – Lithuanian language.
28 Nov 2009, 22:47 pm
ABs have completely embarrassed us. Boks dont deserve to be called the world champions anymore. Please no more Kirchner and Olivier. These two palookas must never play again.
Seriously missed Bakkies and Spies today.
28 Nov 2009, 22:47 pm
@AiDoc: Ok, I get your point. I use to mention MY team’s points first.
28 Nov 2009, 22:50 pm
@AiDoc: Smithy was actually a very good test-level NZ cricket wicketkeeper in his day. And, of course, one naturally plays cricket in summer and rugby in winter if you go to a decent sort of school in a civilised country.
28 Nov 2009, 22:53 pm
Frogs miss a penalty
28 Nov 2009, 22:55 pm
tialata still getting shunted…SOS to carl hayman…
28 Nov 2009, 22:56 pm
Thanks. Please don’t be annoyed but I know your history, just not your language and culture. Coincidently, who was worse? The Germans or the Soviets?
28 Nov 2009, 22:57 pm
Carter penalty 25-12. Half an hour left.
28 Nov 2009, 22:59 pm
@AiDoc: I do not know how to compare. German barons wer sucking our blood since crusaders invaded in XII century. Soviets killed tens of thousands in a space of years in Stalin times.
28 Nov 2009, 22:59 pm
@Transformation:
At the moment i dont care if the scrums are not going our way.
As i can see the scrums are not playing much in this game at the moment. Maybe the try we scored with just a push over,but thats about it
28 Nov 2009, 22:59 pm
@TheTackler:
Unfortunately we are not a civilised country and we have no decent schools. Fortunately I went to school and uni in nz, oZ AND America.
Can’t play rugby too well but my cricket and ping pong are passable.
28 Nov 2009, 23:00 pm
France missed another penalty.
28 Nov 2009, 23:01 pm
@Nils:
My boss is related to the Normans but not the Germans
28 Nov 2009, 23:01 pm
@Crouching Tiger Hidden Bokke: crouchy, kirchner had a decent game, it’s either you’re drunk or blind either way you’re wrong…
28 Nov 2009, 23:02 pm
French Champagne is grown in Marlborough? Didn’t he also beat up the Choirboys? Churchillian!
28 Nov 2009, 23:03 pm
@AiDoc: Nevertheless, thanks to German occupation for 7 centuries, our capital Riga an many cities here in many ways look like an German (i.e. European) cities. Architecture in the Old Cities, etc. Of course, Soviet heritage is huge here – block houses (mostly very unattractive) built in the outskirts from 60s till 80s et all.
28 Nov 2009, 23:04 pm
@Pearl Rose:
Both probably. I lose both faces in that case!
28 Nov 2009, 23:04 pm
@AiDoc: Normans were Frenchisized Scandinavians, you know.
28 Nov 2009, 23:05 pm
@Nils:
Sounds like Ha’erbin which is very cold. I caught a train for several hours north of there once and it was -35 C
28 Nov 2009, 23:06 pm
Allez france! Score a field goal at least!!!!
28 Nov 2009, 23:06 pm
abs making HUGE tackles on the Frogs.
28 Nov 2009, 23:07 pm
@Nils:
I thought that they were Anglicised barbarians? GO DOOMSDAY!
28 Nov 2009, 23:08 pm
@AiDoc: Not anymore. We used to have cold winters (even starting in November) with a lot of snow – I remember that in my childhood.
Now in November we have not had even minus degrees, not to mention total absence of snow. Outrageous.
TRY ALL BLACKS, CORY JANE, GAME OVER.
28 Nov 2009, 23:08 pm
@Nils:
Frogs is a racist expression and only we
TRY!!!!!!!!!!!!!
28 Nov 2009, 23:08 pm

28 Nov 2009, 23:09 pm

28 Nov 2009, 23:09 pm
This is an annihilation. Carter just brilliant.
28 Nov 2009, 23:09 pm
Jane try
How many times do you see Cory Jane beating players. This guy is unlucky not to be playing as fullback. Mils has really cemented the postion but Jane has had by far a better season.
28 Nov 2009, 23:10 pm
@SodaJoe:
French call him Cartier!!!!!
28 Nov 2009, 23:10 pm
@AiDoc: Do frogs have a race? Please, let’s not be over “political correct”, I hate that stuff, really.
And I call white arse as a white arse, and black arse as a black arse.
28 Nov 2009, 23:11 pm
Hospital pass personified.
Men in Black show up.
Pity no men in green & gold showed up.
28 Nov 2009, 23:11 pm
@Hurricane:
I agree and Mils has come right recently
28 Nov 2009, 23:11 pm
12 mins to hold on for a clean try line for 2 years in Europe.
28 Nov 2009, 23:12 pm
@Nils:
No need. We are all brothers. Except the English of course, who are opium pushing slave traders. Lol.
28 Nov 2009, 23:13 pm
Okay off to bed. Abs will win this.
So congrats to my kiwi friends here. Had your team to win on superbru too. Well done ABs on your eoyt.
Cheers all.
28 Nov 2009, 23:13 pm
Game over. Frogs have been annihilated today.
28 Nov 2009, 23:13 pm
@Puma: cheers, Puma, have a nice dreams.
28 Nov 2009, 23:13 pm
@AiDoc:
Especially Stefan Jewns
28 Nov 2009, 23:14 pm
@AiDoc: after all we all are from either Adam/Eve or ****** bunch. Brothers/sisters in any case.
28 Nov 2009, 23:15 pm
@AiDoc:
He has Aidoc.
I rate Mils highly,as probably most of the world do. We are lucky to have 2 very good fullbacks. The shame part is that we cant really play both in there correct postions
28 Nov 2009, 23:17 pm
Today i have seen the two best flyhalfs in the world at there best , carter and gitue both brillent.
28 Nov 2009, 23:19 pm

28 Nov 2009, 23:23 pm
No replays of the gouging,lol
Typical sore losing French. These guys have been put in their place tonight. We may have lost the Tri nations but sfter the end of international season,we are still the best in the world
28 Nov 2009, 23:23 pm
@AiDoc: looked like a gouge to me sorry just cant stand players that go for the eyes
28 Nov 2009, 23:23 pm
the AB’s have shown how it’s done up north this month…
28 Nov 2009, 23:24 pm
@Nils:
Remember the bridge collapse at the Israeli Games? Similar word. It’s a pun I believe.
28 Nov 2009, 23:24 pm
Five tries to nil, those Frogs have been smashed.
28 Nov 2009, 23:24 pm
@AiDoc: I still do not get it, forgive me.

May I say t on behalf of all Saffas.. thanks for putting them in their place. South Africa have been an embarrasment on this end of year tour.
Kudos to the Blacks.
Its so nice seeing the frogs squirm.
Revenge for the South!
28 Nov 2009, 23:27 pm

Marseilles loses for the second time!! However that is spelled!
28 Nov 2009, 23:31 pm
2 consecutive European tours (by the way each of them longer than Wallabies/Boks do there) without a conceded try, not to mention all wins there.
Not bad at all.
39-12. Frogs smashed. 5 tries to 0.
CONGRATULATIONS!
28 Nov 2009, 23:31 pm
Donald rules. Great kick. And the crowd whistles. 2 – 1 MIB bi Coques
28 Nov 2009, 23:31 pm
Youve been watching the BEST TEAM IN THE WORLD !
kia kahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
28 Nov 2009, 23:32 pm
Well their it is.
A very good end to the NZ season
No tries once again against us for over 2 years touring in the NH.
I will await the Big Hit spin on why the french lost the game. He has aready set up the reasons in an earlier thread,French are missing players.
28 Nov 2009, 23:32 pm
@ad_oz: Thanx for that got to see the last half:-)
28 Nov 2009, 23:32 pm
So where are all the PDV fans now? boks are an embarrassment! When the chips are down we still choke.
28 Nov 2009, 23:33 pm
@Nils:
The Kiwis handle better than Thierry Henri!!!!!!!
28 Nov 2009, 23:33 pm
AB’s Rock!!
28 Nov 2009, 23:34 pm
@Hurricane:
Like Hayman and Williams?
28 Nov 2009, 23:34 pm
@AiDoc:
lol
28 Nov 2009, 23:34 pm
@Slumtown: I”d say South Africa were deservedly the best in the world after 3 Nations, but Europe put them back to mother Earth.
People may complain about their fatigue, but cmon, New Zealand have played 14 Tests this year, while Boks – 12, yet ABs crushed Frogs today, while “exausted” Boks had their tails between their legs for most of the month.
Even Australia, who played 13 Tests, played better in the end.
28 Nov 2009, 23:35 pm
NZ shows Boks how to dispose of NH drivel.
28 Nov 2009, 23:36 pm
Also a delight to see that little air punching freak Barcella keep his hands in his pockets today. He did it once after the first scrum and then …. poof! Losers
28 Nov 2009, 23:36 pm
@sporto:
No he is not. He is a legend! Did you see the interview before the game. The only guy to beat the All Blacks three times without a South African referee.
28 Nov 2009, 23:36 pm
@AiDoc: Henry was almost like Maradona a disgrace. Almost – because he had a decency to apologize, unlike that &#$#&#@# Diego.
Both – geniuses, by the way.
28 Nov 2009, 23:36 pm
Well done to the AB’s.
Great display.
Carter was brilliant and Conrad Smith is probably at the moment the best center in the world.
Even better than BOD.
28 Nov 2009, 23:36 pm
anyone question now whether the ABs deserve the number 1 ranking… whats the matter Keo, jealous ? cant even post the right score… 39-12 it was..
and yayyy Ireland… FDP, are you guys responsible for that loss??
two tours of the NH, still not a try conceded…
bwahahaha
28 Nov 2009, 23:36 pm
@WakaNathan: Just a pity you don’t know how to win the biggest prize of all. Damn, you don’t even hold the Tri-nations title anymore.
28 Nov 2009, 23:38 pm
Whats wrong with SA rugby is…
If the ABs beat France 36-12 away from home they say well played, decent victory.
If the Boks were to beat France 36-12 away from home (which we dont look like doing any time soon) we would probably start dancing around, screaming that we had the greatest bok team in history.
28 Nov 2009, 23:39 pm
@kwas:
Here we go,a sore loser pops in.
RWC was like 2 odd years ago. You keep a hold of it,you deserved it but dont come in here with your bitterness and ruin a good thread
28 Nov 2009, 23:39 pm
@kwas: so we can add Ireland to the “lucky SA didnt play them in 07 WC” teams as well…
28 Nov 2009, 23:40 pm
@kwas: Dont worry judjing by your teams form and awful style of rugby you wont be holding many trophies next year.
28 Nov 2009, 23:40 pm
warning lights shining brightly for boks…..we in trouble!
28 Nov 2009, 23:41 pm
@poppa69:
Yep and as long as no provincial teams go to the RWC in 2011,the Boks as still in with a show
28 Nov 2009, 23:41 pm
@kwas: Enjoy this year, next year will come soon.
28 Nov 2009, 23:41 pm
Well done NZ. Frogs crunched until they blushed.
NZ looked as fresh as if it was a game played in July. Its amazing what great athletes can do when they run the ball and not kick everything away like the Bokke.
By far the most refeshing game of the weekend.
NZ to beat the Baabaas next wekend by 20.
28 Nov 2009, 23:41 pm
either way, it was a great test match, both sides willing to run the ball, not the aerial ping pong we have been subjected to…
28 Nov 2009, 23:42 pm
weekend
28 Nov 2009, 23:43 pm
Alright, cheers to all!
ABs cemented their top spot till at least June. Well done after disasterous start.
28 Nov 2009, 23:43 pm
@Nils: Were justing looking completely off the boil at the moment. Steyn cost us the game today due to him missing 5 penalties, but either way we were outplayed by the irish and lets face it … they werent very good either. 2 factors in it for me… playing the wrong players and combos… eg Matfield and Becker… Becker too similar to Matfield we had no enforcer… I would have put Rossouw at 4 and played Deysel at 7 (anotehr enforcer type) and put Burger at 8.
Then they also changed the front row combo at half time for god knows what.
And the second point we need to stop bloody kicking. It didnt work at all today and it seems Steyn, Du Preez, Kirchner and the odd other just cant stop themselves. No confidence in the backline for some reason.
Other factors include us not committing players to the breakdown and not being agressive enough there.
Tired my ***! Bad tactics, bad coaching and bad selections.
Also Kirchner aint really doing too much for us at fullback.
28 Nov 2009, 23:45 pm
@WakaNathan:
They will be when they get Ali and Hayman back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
28 Nov 2009, 23:47 pm
@Slumtown:
Rob Kearny showed right from the beginning that he is more then capable to field the high kicks and to punish us if it was even remotely inaccurate.
And yet we persist by kicking the leather off the ball.
Pathetic stuff!
No vision or ideas.
28 Nov 2009, 23:48 pm
@Robzim:
BOD is a cheat. Did you see how he dived against the AB’s in 2005 and the opium pushing slave traders last year?
28 Nov 2009, 23:49 pm
@AiDoc:
dont say that, doesnt big hit have a lot of man love for him too, just behind Johnny..
28 Nov 2009, 23:49 pm
@The Jinxta:
And Pakistan too!
28 Nov 2009, 23:51 pm
lol Richie McCaw got IRB player of the year, WTF??
28 Nov 2009, 23:51 pm
Where is BigTit?
28 Nov 2009, 23:52 pm
@poppa69:
Definitely a behind man! Lol.
28 Nov 2009, 23:53 pm
The Aussies and Abs have played a similar amount of rugby
as the Boks but were getting stronger towards the end.
The Boks in contrast started to fade away.
Has it something to do with the way our players are conditioned?
28 Nov 2009, 23:53 pm
Richie player of the year. NO that cant be right.
The same guy who led his team to a 0/3 record against the world champs? Surely not…
28 Nov 2009, 23:53 pm
@fantasticbarnsmell:
When?
28 Nov 2009, 23:53 pm
Have to hand it to the French that they tried to entertain today. There was probably as much running rugby today as there was in half the rest of the Autumn internbationals combined. End result was that they got beaten by playing to the AB’s strengths, but the game was more entertaining than most of the others played in 2009.
Will be interesting to see if the new confidence developing amongst the AB back 3 will translate into problems for the Boks with their kick and chase game in 2010. It would be nice to see running rugby dominate again, but I don’t think that is a safe assumption for now.
28 Nov 2009, 23:54 pm
@AiDoc: the year of our lord 2009…
28 Nov 2009, 23:54 pm
well dome nz.
didnt watch the game though.
28 Nov 2009, 23:54 pm
Five tries! France were given a severe and pretty humiliating spanking by the officially #1 ranked team on the planet who continue their “tired and burnt out after a long season” triumphal march still gloriously unbeaten.
Not 4 whippings in 5 games, and two by lowly club B teams…
28 Nov 2009, 23:55 pm
wasn’t he injured for a few games earlier this year too? i know he’s an incredible player, but he wasn’t the best this year surely…
28 Nov 2009, 23:55 pm
@TheTackler:
Gotta love ya!
28 Nov 2009, 23:56 pm
Tackler!
Answer me this, are you not from SOUTH AFRICA?
28 Nov 2009, 23:56 pm
@TheTackler: stop posting
28 Nov 2009, 23:57 pm
@WP_: hey WP….the same world champs that won 1 game on tour was it
28 Nov 2009, 23:57 pm
I have got to say that the obnoxious gloating from some of the AB supporters is just as childish as the continual ‘chokers’ taunts from some of the Bok supporters. Must be a lot of emotionally insecure people come here for their fix.
28 Nov 2009, 23:58 pm
Player of the year should have been Nigel ‘raging ******’ Owens. He won the game for Ireland today, all by himself!
28 Nov 2009, 23:58 pm
@Robzim: One thing if your kicks are tactically accurate but they were just kicking straight to Kearney´s arms too boot. Its beyond pathetic. I´m fairly disgusted with that lame attempt they made today.
What a wet fizzle to what has been a good year. but I would add the warning signs were there to see against the B&I Lions. We were very lucky to walk away with a win there. Not convincing at all.
28 Nov 2009, 23:58 pm
H@fantasticbarnsmell:
Only when they lost. Like then two No 7′s for the Dingoes today. both men of the match but Ditto got the votes because he played both halves!
28 Nov 2009, 23:59 pm
@aliboy: just returning serve Ali, we cop it all the time, nice to be able to return it occasionally… perhaps some of your brethren will realise this (I doubt it) hence, paybacks a ******!!
29 Nov 2009, 00:00 am
@poppa69:
They are only world champions because Barnes is a moron.
29 Nov 2009, 00:00 am
And Suzie is real!!!!!!!!!!!!!
29 Nov 2009, 00:02 am
@poppa69:
In Shangainese poppa is a weak kneed pooftah.
29 Nov 2009, 00:02 am
Yes poppa
Rub it in mate, we were awful on tour it must be said.
Not sure why, i’m sure they are a number of excuses floating around but fact is we were not good enough. We were, however, good enough to beat your lot 3-0 this year.
Let me remind you of the scores: 28-19, 31-19 & 32-29.
P.S (SA’s score is written first)
29 Nov 2009, 00:02 am
@Robzim:
Boks would have lost by a ton tonight had they played NZ.
It feels like the Boks are dunking stale biscuits in cold coffee at the moment.
They are so pedestrian they could be fined for J-walking.
Boks have become very one dimensional and we’d better have a very cold shower and smell the roses. 2010 & 2011 will reveal some hard truths for the Bok coaching staff and supporters unless we move on and re-invent ourselves.
Seeing NZ tonight was a treat.
Boks beware!!! You have been warned. You’ve had a rosy year but now the cracks are showing heavily.
29 Nov 2009, 00:02 am
@AiDoc:
I seen the second half of the wobblies game, he hasnt got any better…
29 Nov 2009, 00:04 am
@WP_: That’s like asking someone if they’re from Bloemfontein.
As they say in the classics, it’s a great place to come from but a truly ghastly place to go to.
29 Nov 2009, 00:04 am
Nigel ‘raging ****’ Owens should have won the Player of the year award! He won the game for Ireland all by himself today!
29 Nov 2009, 00:04 am
@poppa69: Actually poppa, I am a born and bred Kiwi who just gets a bit embarrassed reading some of the drivel since that is not how I and the people I know were brought up to behave.
29 Nov 2009, 00:05 am
Nigel ‘raging ******’ Owens should have won player of the year
29 Nov 2009, 00:05 am
@WP_: all good mate
Im sure you guys will be back strong and ready next year mate…
heres some scores for you 19-0, 49-0, 24-23,53-3, 15-10, 20 13..
P.S SA’s score is second
29 Nov 2009, 00:07 am
@aliboy: its all banter mate, as has been said on here previously, if we were at the pub we’d all be sharing beers and half the stuff wouldnt be said…
29 Nov 2009, 00:07 am
Tackler.
Why suck up to the kiwi’s then?
Why do you dislike your countrymen so?
29 Nov 2009, 00:11 am
@poppa69: “wouldn’t be said in the pub” – exactly!! I sometimes moderate another large (non rugby) website forum and it is sad to see ‘internet bravado’ turn interesting threads into virtual fistfights. Witty banter is great, but there is some pretty dumb stuff that goes on here. A bit more respect and intelligence in the banter would make for a better site IMHO.
29 Nov 2009, 00:12 am
gotta go, well done AB’s, their best game of the season…
FDP deserves player of the year, I just wonder if the loss to Ireland has hurt his chances..
Heres looking forward to 2010, when 2 NZ national sides will again go to the republic..
Imagine the banter if NZ and SA are drawn in the same pool of the Fifa world cup…
Cheers All…
29 Nov 2009, 00:15 am
226 poppa
Alright you asked for it.
Here are some scores for you. (NZ score is 2nd and the year is in brackets)
15-12 (1995), 43-31 (1999), 22-10 (2003), 20-18 (2007)
oops, I forgot the score from 1991
29 Nov 2009, 00:17 am
@WP_: I´d say he´s pissed at SA´s poor performance this Nov and I´d say I have to agree. NZ show again how its done. I agree completely. Well done NZ -flying the SH flag high. Oz didnt do us southerners any favours either with their draw and loss.
29 Nov 2009, 00:17 am
@WP_: thats cool, just tell me WP
how many times have you lost to Ireland now ? and its 4 times vs Scotland is it ?
combined, they still havent beaten us.. enjoy your day mate.. cheers..
29 Nov 2009, 00:18 am
Player of the year should be N.igel ‘raging f aggott’ O. wens!
He won the game for Ireland today, all by himself!
29 Nov 2009, 00:20 am
poppa69
Hahaha, got me there. Just remember 2 World Cups to one mate!
Have a great day there mate, and very well done to your ABs! Much better than the spineless and predictable Boks! Cheers
29 Nov 2009, 00:20 am
well done SA,u beat the ABs 3-0,we’ll see if u can back it up next year one good season does’t = dominance unless u can consistantley beat us over a longer period.
29 Nov 2009, 00:26 am
so is it true Richie McCaw got player of the year. Good choice thank goodness neither of those other 2 hyped up prima donna’s Fdp or Bod got it would have gone straight to their overrated heads.
29 Nov 2009, 00:26 am
@skopskiet: dance my puppets, dance!
29 Nov 2009, 00:29 am
@skopskiet: skop…..Boks better catch a wake up real quick….we in major strife…..a couple of okes not gonna make that wc 2011….Matfiel d looked a goner!
29 Nov 2009, 00:34 am
skop
Your head’s overrated too.
29 Nov 2009, 00:36 am
need some youth….fark me i am a concerned man now….2010 gonna be tough for Boks….please cj and bj come home boys…
29 Nov 2009, 00:36 am
Bismark better prove himself in next season’s s14, his form has been piss lately.
Smit, A Strauss and Liebenberg are all better
29 Nov 2009, 00:44 am
@WP_:
Flannery was by far the best hooker on the field today.
The Lions certainly missed him big time.
John is too sluggish to make it as a modern day hooker and has to do a lot of “down toning” if he wants become the SA no 1 in that position again
IMO it is too late for him – he should go before he damages his reputation even more.
29 Nov 2009, 00:47 am
Rob – He only ‘bulked up’ cause of PDV ridiculous idea to try to convert him to a 3!
imo he can still play with a bit of conditioning , as a 2, till the 2011 wc
29 Nov 2009, 00:52 am
@WP_:
Agree, Peter must take a lot of the blame.
It will be tough for him to “bulk down” again – the “youngsters” (Bismark, Liebenberg, StrausX2 and even Burton) are queing up.
Maybe the time for him to go and sit on his stoep (like old Blokkies Joubert) has arrived.
29 Nov 2009, 00:55 am
Richie McCaw HAS to be up for a knighthood in the New Year Honours List. Next year the yarpies will be up against an AB team captained by Sir Richard McCaw, KCMG (or whatever). Won’t that look pretty damned awesome on the team-sheet?
Much better than, say, Brian Habana, grand chieftain of the Order of Mapungabwe Chumbalumbas (Platinum Class)? Proudly sponsored by KFC?
Ehhhehehehhh…
29 Nov 2009, 01:00 am
245 possibly Robbo. Would be sad to see tho
29 Nov 2009, 01:26 am
@WP_:
Are you f#@king kidding me, now I’ve heard of clutching at straws but that statement is ridiculous. If anything Owens HElPED SA, I recall Roussou Kneeing Wallace in the Head and got away with a warning which should have been at LEAST a yellow card. I also recalling Pieterson nearly taking Bowe’s head off while he was Off-Side. Face it bro you were beaten by a better team on the day.
29 Nov 2009, 01:35 am
@TheTackler: wow, racist much?
29 Nov 2009, 01:45 am
Well, you can@fantasticbarnsmell: Well, you can’t SERIOUSLY believe that old Idi Amin’s Ugandan “Victoria Cross” was ever going to carry the same prestige as the real thing, do you?
29 Nov 2009, 02:57 am
It’s all about Dan Carter for the ABs
He was a magic and that against a very strong French team.
We got to give it to him
29 Nov 2009, 04:06 am
Dan’s only the second-best rugby player on earth. Sir Richard McCaw is even better.
29 Nov 2009, 04:13 am
@grant10: #236
Watch him next week for the Baabaas.
@Robzim: #242
Robzim, I always respect your views, I really do. But to now put the blame on PdV for JS’ effort today is just not on. JS is a leader, a born one according to most. He could have told PdV “gaan kak” when PdV approach him and asked him to move to TH. He did not. I can only think that he bulked up out of his own free will. How can you blame PdV for that?
@fantasticbarnsmell: #246
Nobody on this site is racist. They just call it the way they see it. Ask Hondo and WP. And they don’t even have a chip on their shoulder, mind you.
29 Nov 2009, 04:14 am
@kwas:
The fact youre on here dissin the ABs, after a result like that, is more satistfaction than words can commute.
@grant10:
Hope you enjoyed the game tonight G10. I know you love the ABs so. Can you deny that this is the best team on the Planet ?
I cop alot of criticism here, but have you ever….ONCE…….seen me coming on here saying “I hate the Boks” or “I hope Boks lose” ?
and they say I show the Boks no respect. Well be my guest, read your countrymens remarks here and tell me who is respecting who.
Wise up ladies, France in France couldnt live with an AVERAGE AB team !
The thing I like about THIS ab TEAM ? well, everyone says theyre sh*t. And they probably are. But theyve ended 2009 as no1. Again. And they can only get better.
Fk it, Im opening another bottle of port.
29 Nov 2009, 04:28 am
@AiDoc:
Yeah, where the hell IS Big Hit ?
y’know, Ive gotta say. It doesnt take a man to blog here annon about how much he hates a team, a nation of peoples, every day, and make a name for himself on that platform, and throw candys out the back of passing limos. But not ONCE has BH this week, after a convincing 13pt victory at HQ, has he bothered as to say so much as a “well done” or “ABs were better”. FFS, what does it take ?
Well scroll back a few pages here and I’ll tell you 1 thing, After every single TriN match this season, every single one of Cane, CaptFanny, Hurricane, NZinChina, myself – to a man we’ve ALL rocked on up and passed on our ‘Congrats’ and atleast acknowledged that the Boks were better on the day (which they were, no doubt, we all said it). Im not sure Tackler did, but then he’s 1 of yours anyway fellas !
But not ONCE has BH even made 1 positive comment to NZ or the Keo Kiwis here. Im sure none of us need that pat on the back, I certainly dont. But what sort of person cant bring themselves to, on a sports level, acknowledge the better man won ?
BH, I thought I was starting to grow some begrudging respect of you. But you know what ?
F U.
29 Nov 2009, 04:32 am
@Robzim:
Wow, how good IS Rob Kearney ? simply sensational !
29 Nov 2009, 05:12 am
@WakaNathan: #253
Kearney was great yesterday. He certainly is giving your man a run for his money as the best in the world at the moment.
I thought Muliaina got his mojo back last night.
29 Nov 2009, 05:17 am
@nama1:
Mils never lost his mojo, his mojo lost him. Mils, the Ever Reliable One. Great player, Great Man.
But Kearney, now that man is SOME player.
Presumably if Bakkies was there, he would have been assigned to AXE him.
29 Nov 2009, 05:32 am
@WakaNathan: @WakaNathan:
Are you talking about AXE, the underarm deodorant?
Now why would Bakkies want to make him smell like a human being?
29 Nov 2009, 05:35 am
Actually youre right. Didnt Bakkies AXE Adam Jones right in that sensitive unprotected under-arm region ?
29 Nov 2009, 05:41 am
@WakaNathan:
No, I don’t think so. According to Adams his body position was not right and that was the reason for his injury.
29 Nov 2009, 07:20 am
@WakaNathan:
Congrats to your team. That was a great display of total rugby. France’ backline defence was horrendous but it doesn’t detract from the fact that the ABs made it look that way.
29 Nov 2009, 07:50 am
Wow, i didnt watch the game last nite but what a result for the AB’S. A surprising scoreline in my opinion, i expected a close victory for NZ and not a hammering. Well done. Boks beat nz 3-0, lost to france & ROI…Nz beat france. Maybe it now means that any nation can win on the day now, thats good for rugby.
29 Nov 2009, 08:58 am
Awesome All Blacks ….. what a great game from them. Made the Boks look like u10′s. VEry impressed. They were really up for it, you could see it in their Haka. French were all chest beating and head bashing after the first scrum, and then proceeded to get totally f…ed up! Had to have a laugh!!
Well done AB’s … what a great team effort with some scintillating rugger .. best performance by an International team all year.
29 Nov 2009, 09:17 am
Wow! That was pure comprehensive rugby. As a Bok fan I can only applaud the All Blacks for that performance. Totally stunning. Just wish we had the go ahead to try and run the ball too. The French were made to look amateurish throughout.
The only perk out of yesterday was seeing no tries scored by NH teams against SH top 3.
Well done Wallabies and All Blacks.
29 Nov 2009, 09:21 am
congrats to the Kiwis….
29 Nov 2009, 09:30 am
Was an enjoyable game to watch and that is something you can’t say very often about modern rugby. Well done ABs for putting on such a comprehensive performance despite any fatigue that may be beginning to set in. Boks take note.
29 Nov 2009, 10:56 am
As Graham H said afterwards – both sides came to entertain. Hats off to the French that even though they were getting exposed at times they kept running and were unlucky not finish a couple of good breaks. The AB defense has been outstanding.
Interesting that the chair shuffle of the 3 wise men does seem to have improved (or at least maintained at a high standard) the defense, attack, and forward play (not sure about the scrum?). Maybe it really wasn’t the desperate move of a dying trio as was made out in much of the NZ media.
29 Nov 2009, 11:00 am
@<a href="#comment@The Analyst: @mampara73: @grant10: @jonnymain: -1474632″>David: @SKW:
I thank you for your sporting and gracious comments.
Just goes to show…………………..The Anarchists do not rule Keo all the time.
29 Nov 2009, 11:06 am
@aliboy:
True Ali, France came to play.
Why did NZ have to wear White?
I thought the HOME Team changed strip in the event of a colour problem!
29 Nov 2009, 11:12 am
As a fan of the ABs, I’d like to thank the Brain Trust, Richie, Dan Cj and the rest of the boys. That was awesome. Cheers Boys.
29 Nov 2009, 11:25 am
Well done All Blacks,I was so nervous for this game..Great win. Good luck to the SA cricket team playing England today.
29 Nov 2009, 11:43 am
@cane:
That’s the frustrating problem in supporting the Boks. So much potential in gaining possession and stuff all ideas in what to do with it. The fact that we seem to have worked out how to beat the ABs has clouded our judgement in how to vary our game against other sides.
We’re actually starting to become the “Wimbledon FC” version of the rugby world.
29 Nov 2009, 11:53 am
@David:
South Africa are moving to another country and changing their name?

Actually I think AFC Wimbledon just got promoted for the third straight year. A couple more years and they will be playing the Milton Keynes Dons

@cane:
and when France were in NZ earlier this year, who wore what ?
I thought convention dictates that touring sides wear their normal strip and, if there is a colour clash, the home town changes ?
So a small stab in the eye back to the Frogs for the repulsive lengths they went to at RWC07 and force the Blacks to be Grey.
love that All Black white strip. Cant remember them losing in it either.

Congrats to AB supporters, your team really entertained last night! I almost fell asleep during our game… It was like watching someone repeatedly hitting their head against a brick wall for at least 70 minutes of the game

@WakaNathan:
I thought that the away team changes.
29 Nov 2009, 13:07 pm
@WakaNathan:
Do you think they chose to wear it to honour your national soccer side reaching the WC?

Can’t believe McCaw has been cited for lazy running.
I thought that was just for Foul Play?
29 Nov 2009, 14:06 pm
So typical of *#$@&ing Frogs…save their best for tired Boks and fall to pieces against a decent game plan….
29 Nov 2009, 14:08 pm
@Storm outta hell: A bit like Boks saving their best for AB’s and falling apart on EOYT
29 Nov 2009, 14:23 pm
@Flametop:
McCaw should have got a yellow for that.
I can’t believe the ref let that go?????
Cracking game though!!
29 Nov 2009, 18:05 pm
yip, this is how you play NH rugby, forwards are committed and backs are attacking – we played shite on this tour – and actually its pisspoor.
Sure the Boks have done very well, but these performances were not on. If they not up for it, pick a rested EOY bokke team that is.
29 Nov 2009, 18:48 pm
@kwas: No mate, you might have the WC ( Toilet) but we have the greatest prize of all, RESPECT!!!
29 Nov 2009, 18:54 pm
@chch – welcome back Laulala: and how is the manu version doing?
29 Nov 2009, 22:20 pm
Unfortunately did not see the match, but was wondering what the French did with the NZ anthem…
29 Nov 2009, 23:48 pm
you leave for 8 months and come back to the same myopic drivel….
Yep you Bokkes had a great 3N, no question, and about time too, it took us to be at our weakest and you at your strngest for it to occur, but like all things in sport, every dog has its day.
Great win by AB’s in France, best game of the year by a country mile, I wonder what will happen this weekend at Twickers, no doubt if Big Hit does return, he will some how turn it into an English performance if the Ab’s lose, Im calling it 50-50 at this stage.

Cant understand why after 100 yrs of Black playing Blue suddenly no one can tell them apart so they need to change jerseys. The Black jersey hasnt changed….. so what gives
30 Nov 2009, 17:37 pm
@lapoftherugbygods:
take this with a grain of salt
or not
but an urban myth swirling in these parts whispered by a passing unicorn in a fairies grove outside Camelot made mention that…..
’2-3 years prior to RWC ’07, the marketing gurus of the French Rugby Union decided to de-aura the Black jersey, in anticipation of meeting them in their home RWC. The decision was made to darken the blue French jersey, considerably, and almost wipe red and white (ie ‘les Tricolors’) from the strip. The ‘blue’ is now a black-blue and not a red-blue, as per their National flag and FRU jersey throughout history. The FRU knew that as host Nation on home soil, they would get 1st preference of jersey colour in case of a clash, which was the opposite of touring ediquette which stated the touring team would play in its usual colours, the home team changing. Fast-fwd to the upcoming QterF at RWC’07 and catastrophe for the marketing gurus of FRU……it was in Cardiff, ergo not ‘@ home’. ! There was a major kerfuffle, the French had been sprung and tried to throw their weight around. ABs wouldnt budge. The IRB forced a coin-toss and, lo and behold, France call correctly…….and that, my friend, is why the All Greys were forced to change their strip on the eve of the match. And we all know what happened then…..’.
What a wonderful rich history the game of Rugby Union has. Indeed.

@WakaNathan:
Its a sad day when modern team management can overcome rugby’s traditions… The very tradition thats created the marketable game it is today
Have your say
