Toulon surprise Stade

Jonny Wilkinson kicked 17 points as Toulon defeated  Stade Francais 22-18 in Paris.

The hosts out-scored Toulon by two tries to one, but the unerring boot of Wilkinson saw them through. Ross Skeate started for the victors, as did Noel Oelschig for Stade.

Castres continued their good run with a 34-6 win over Biarritz, while Andrew Mehrtens’ boot meant Racing Metro defeated Albi 9-6. Frans Steyn started at centre for Racing, while Jacques Cronje played at No 8.
