Brumbies sign bad boy

Former Wallabies lock Justin Harrison has returned to the Brumbies on a one-year deal.

Harrison, who was also linked with a move to Boland, has decided to agree terms with his former team after stints with the Waratahs, Ulster and Bath.

The 35-year-old is currently suspended for cocaine abuse during Bath’s celebrations after the 2008-09 season, but will be free to feature for the Brumbies from 13 January 2010.

‘After finishing up with Bath, I sat down and ranked the countries and clubs I wanted to play with,’ Harrison told rugbyheaven.com.au. ‘I listed the Brumbies at number one even though it was an unlikely scenario at the time.

‘I’ve made mistakes during my career but the next 12 months is a chance for me to rectify my professional reputation.’

Brumbies coach Andy Friend said he is happy to have player with his experience in the squad.

‘The decision to recruit Justin was a football decision and one I knew was the right thing for the Brumbies,’ he said. ‘He’s been one of the most consistent forwards in the UK over the past four seasons where tight five forwards lead the way in their physicality.

‘He’s an old school lock who’ll bring a lot of presence and intelligence to our pack in 2010. He’s arguably the best lineout technician in the game. He’s a very smart footballer, who will be a good mentor for a number of our younger players.’

Over the hill…should just retire and save himself the possible embarrassment…

He was great back in his day, when he would irritate the hell out of the opposition forward packs. He isn’t as young as he was back then, I think he should quit before he gets his old-self moered beyond recognition….

I remember him some poor quota winger some seasons ago and was this thug not suppose to undergo racist rehabilitation programming?

I have never like harrison but what is going to be intersting to see how he gets up bakkies and matfields nose.

I reckon its eith harrison to hospital or bakkies to the sin bin.
harrison know how to stir it. He had many players irked with his off the ball stuff.

He and bakkies are from the same father.
