McCaw to face Baa Baas
Richie McCaw will captain a second-string All Blacks side against the Barbarians at Twickenham on Saturday.

First-choice players Andrew Hore, Neemia Tialata, Adam Thomson and Jimmy Cowan are on the bench.

2nd tier Black DRAGONS!
December 2nd, 2009 at 11:55 am
Robbing the public of their pounds by fielding a 2nd string outfit. Carter not even on the bench!
December 2nd, 2009 at 12:53 pm
Blacks will still win I reckon
December 2nd, 2009 at 1:04 pm
Its always second tier without Carter
December 2nd, 2009 at 1:44 pm
@WP_: I rate so too. Their not like the Boks, their second or third teams are just as competitive. Anyone know who’s in the Barbarian team?
December 2nd, 2009 at 1:59 pm
Oh no not Stephen donald,last chance saloon for this guy, I almost hope he has another nightmare just so he goes away, far better flys in nz than him also the comment about nz without carter are second rate is a bit like the boksx without Bakkies

Nvm my Q, hers the team:
Barbarians’ Team:
Drew Mitchell (Australia); Joe Rokocoko (New Zealand), Jaque Fourie (South Africa), Jamie Roberts (Wales), Bryan Habana (South Africa); Matt Giteau (Australia), Fourie du Preez (South Africa); Salvatore Perugini (Italy), Bismarck du Plessis (South Africa), W P Nel (Free State Cheetahs), Carlo del Fava (Italy), Victor Matfield, captain (South Africa), Rocky Elsom (Australia), Schalk Burger (South Africa), George Smith (Australia)
Replacements:
Stephen Moore (Australia), Tendai Mtawarira (South Africa), Quintin Geldenhuys (Italy), Andy Powell (Wales), Will Genia (Australia), Morne Steyn (South Africa), Leigh Halfpenny (Wales).
December 2nd, 2009 at 2:49 pm
Fok me, man for man that Barbarians team is bloody strong!!!!!
December 2nd, 2009 at 3:06 pm
Watch Giteau miss all his kicks at goal and Morne Steyn come on and save the day.
Who’s to say this is a “b” team? Just because carter isn’t playing. They mix and mash their team so often with exotic, replaceable islanders that it is hard to say what their A side is.

This game on telly in SA ???

@Oubaas2009:
‘robbing the public of their pounds’ ?
Well, the bar was set pretty high when Jake White decided to send a 2ndXV to NZ in TriN ‘07. No matter that the Boks had completed their home matches against fullstrength All Blacks & Wallabies, to sold out crowds. No ! Lets wait until the Kiwis and Aussies had invested their own hard-earned salaries for tickets to see the Springboks tour……and THEN decide to appoint a new Capt (Muller) and send off a 2nd team to grace the fields of NZ & Australia.
So, on a ‘Robbing the Public’ scale, an AB team selected to face an Invitational BaaBaas team in an end-of-season gala match doesnt quite hit the same peaks. Does it.
@Kobus Kitty:
Islander replacements ?
Well theres 1. Only Soaiolo from this XV wasnt born in NZ.
Tell me, hows Beasts Passport Application coming on ?
December 2nd, 2009 at 5:10 pm
Sivivatu wasnt born in NZ, he’s on the bench
December 2nd, 2009 at 5:19 pm
@Papoose:
But nevertheless Dragons.
December 2nd, 2009 at 7:54 pm
Waka. You’re wasting your time with kitty kat. He continually brings up something I said 5 months ago then as witnessed here does exactly the same with his islanders call. Someone should tell him that NZ is 3 islands in the pacific, making all kiwis pacific islanders but I’m sure his has unsavoury undertones.
December 2nd, 2009 at 11:33 pm
@WakaNathan:
It was actually a master stroke by Jake (and I assume Noakes)
I assume GH will copy it in 2011.
Oh, do or don’t get offended with what I said about the islanders, I really don’t care. You mention Beast, is he the only none South African that plays for the Springboks since Bobby or Chavanga? I don’t mind it if its one player in every so years, but wow… the All Blacks take it to a new level. Bunch of mercenaries.
@poppa69:
You’ve been exposed as a racist, so what? Learn to drop it.
December 3rd, 2009 at 12:20 am
@Kobus Kitty:
Spot on.
I wish Kiwi’s would admit it’s nice to have the Island gene pool so close buy.
SA would do the same thing, but for some reason the Kiwi’s won’t admit its beneficial to have the Islands so close by.
December 3rd, 2009 at 12:23 am
@Kobus Kitty: “but wow… the All Blacks take it to a new level. Bunch of mercenaries”.”
It is definitely a new level. Never seen before.
Just 2 year old mercenary from Samoa named Rodney So’oialo. 5 years old mercenary from Fiji named Joe Rokocoko.
Geez, even in Africa they bring young soldiers at least aged 7 or something.
December 3rd, 2009 at 12:49 am
@CenturionShark (aka LondonShark): It’s mutual.
For some strange reason you do not want to see that majority of PI players were born in … ermm .. New Zealand. In the WC2007, for example, Samoa had about 2/3 or their entire squad born in NZ, followed closely by Tonga and Fiji.
Bloody poachers those islanders.
December 3rd, 2009 at 4:32 am
@Kobus Kitty: A while ago I read one of your posts which is one the most racist things I have read, so you calling poppa69 a racist is laughable
December 3rd, 2009 at 4:47 am
@Waster:
Mate, poppa rose up and showed his true colours a good few months back with a seriously racist comment. He appologised afterwards, but the damage was done I’m afraid. Labled….
Don’t be so quick to blindly support people just cause they happen to be Kiwi’s. Likewise, there are some seriously sad Saffa cases as well.
December 3rd, 2009 at 4:59 am
@whatever: Ok I not up with that one,
December 3rd, 2009 at 6:26 am
@whatever: and people like you and kitty show your true colours… as you said, I apologised and actually stayed away because my comments were appalling, and not an excuse but Im sure weve all said things when drunk that we later regret.. the fact that I acknowledged what I said was wrong, showed true remorse and contrition has no bearing on you guys whatsoever does it?
the fact you guys fall back on that one comment over my almost 3 years here, says a lot more about you two then it does about me…
its laughable you guys think Im a rascist, you dont know me at all… but continue please, it must make you feel like a real man to castrate someone with the same thing again and again and again and again…

Judging by some of your posts in other threads, I think you are one of those “sad Saffa cases”.
December 3rd, 2009 at 1:45 pm
@Nils: Fair enough.
Like I said, we would do the same thing.
December 3rd, 2009 at 1:51 pm
@poppa69: @22
Youve already apologised far too many times, Poppa. Morons like Kitty simply arent worth the effort and Whatever has a less pleasant odour to him than the dogshit I stepped in on the way to work this am.
Besides, some of these guys can make an argument about racism from simple thin air. That chip is their problem, dont let them make it in to yours.
December 3rd, 2009 at 1:54 pm
@WakaNathan:
You stepped in dogshit?
December 3rd, 2009 at 2:18 pm
@Dawn:
Did you know that its a sign of good luck if a bird sh*ts on you ?
December 5th, 2009 at 8:32 am
At first I was irritated that I could not find the baabaas game in the DSTV schedule then I saw 9 too exhausted Boks (to beat the French and the Irish) were playing (for the money no doubt) and the All Blacks were playing their second team. Shove it I thought.
