Leicester out of Europe

Tommy Bowe scored the only try of the match as the Ospreys knocked Leicester out of the European Cup with a 17-12 win at the Liberty Stadium.

Ricky Januarie started as he helped his side qualify through the toughest group in the competition, with James Hook’s brilliance setting up Bowe’s score.

Perpignan claimed a 34-6 win over Treviso, as Gerrie Britz started and Gavin Hume came off the bench for the victors.

BJ Botha’s Ulster comprehensively outplayed Bath 28-10, although the latter weren’t helped by Danny Grewcock’s red card in the 32 minute. Luke Watson and Michael Claassens started for the losers.

Edinburgh also capped off a miserable campaign for Stade Francais, winning 9-7.

A miserable campaign for Stade Francais?
They haven’t looked great, it’s true. But they finished top of their group and have qualified for last eight.
    Hardly miserable.

Ospreys played with 16 men for more than a minute before the referee was alerted to the cheating!!! But i was cheering for them anyway.

@grant10: cj got chowed by that london irish loosehead a couple of times hence three penalties that chris malone fluffed! Granted he was returning from injury but he can turbo reverse!

    @Transformation: Hi

No one turbo reverses better than Smit.

He has turned it intoan art form.

    3 reverse gears…top speed achieved in 2 second flat….

His 3 jersey comes with a health warning for all 8 th men and scrumhalves.

@Paddylock: think they’re referring to the gouging bans perhaps? I agree with you, it has been a successful campaign so far for Stade, they’re into the knockouts.

@grant10: BJ is the perfect bench man to come on for BDP after an hour when Smit scrummaging begins to tire.

@grant10: hahahahaha @ “top gear in 2 seconds flat”. Grant beware of Big Hit’s advice he wants us to turbo reverse against England @ Twickenham so that he can brag about a scalp here afterwards.. :D

@grant10: yeh EP were apparently quite psyched up for the cheetahs and Naka called it “wake up call”, he could’ve made excuses about it being pre-season and all that but he was honest…de wet barry has been a good mentor and influence, hopefully they can get some more experienced players then they’ll be cooking for the currie cup!

This isn’t just a wake up call for the cheaters .. but also for the Lions … the team ending last day’s could be numbered in super rugby

Big Hit is the MI 5 secret Agent 008 of the site.

Sent on a covert mission to assure us saffas through a tirade of disinformation that the best way to retain the WC in 2011 is to scrum backwards in turbo reverse towards our own goal line…somehow he makes this sound like a very positive and meaningful move towards immortality as the only taeam to retain the WC….

All the while the other major nations lick there lips in anticipation….a Bok scrum in reverse…yummy!

Dont believe it for a macro secone….that is the road to doom….the passage to a quarter final exit….and Kiwi ,France,Pom or, heaven forbid , Aussie triumph!

    No….008, we onto you….

What next, Ruan Pienaar at 12 and M Steyn at 15???

    Yeah, sure…

As a Leinster fan, I have to say I’ve been very disappointed with CJ. Ollie was fantastic when he came over and became a cult hero in no time. CJ is a poor scrummager, seems lazy and plays like he’s on rollerskates. He never stays on his feet and receives treatment every 15 minutes before taking a few weeks off to recover from his injuries. Leinster have two better props in Stan Wright and Mike Ross.
