Montauban maul Racing

Montauban defeated Frans Steyn’s Racing Metro 45-31 in a Top 14 fixture on Saturday.

The result sees Montauban closing the gap on 12th-placed Montpellier as they strive to avoid relegation. Three tries were scored by the visitors, while Racing only managed two.

Apart from Steyn, Racing featured a number of South Africans in this match. Marius Goosen partnered Steyn in the centres, while Jacques Cronje and former Stormers lock Francois van der Merwe started in the pack.
