Smith gets bad break

Graeme Smith will miss the rest of the IPL after fracturing his right middle finger while taking a catch.

The Proteas captain picked up the injury during the Rajasthan Royals’ second match of the tournament on Monday against the Delhi Daredevils.

Smith confirmed the news on his Twitter page.

‘Hi everyone!!so sad to be telling u that I have a double fracture in my right middle finger,so will be missing the ipl!very disappionted!! I hurt it taking the catch off sehwag last night wen I landed my finger got hooked in the ground!!wish the royals all the best for ipl’

Smith hopes the finger will heal in time for the World Twenty20 in the Caribbean starting on 30 April.
