St Andrew’s finish with a flourish

St Andrew’s recorded a narrow 15-12 win against Noord-Kaap on the final day of the St Stithians Easter Festival.

The Eastern Cape side scored two tries through Dale Austin and Jonny Ford, while Ntsiki Lamleli kicked a conversion and a penalty. Noord-Kaap also crossed the line twice, via Waldo Botha and Kobus du Plessis, with the latter adding a conversion.

In the first match of the day, Hudson Park claimed an 18-17 win against St Charles. The Eastern Cape school scored two tries through Jarryd Goddard and Mhlali Bambeni, while Justin Haynes kicked a conversion and two penalties. St Charles, who are from Pietermaritzburg, crossed the line on three occasions, via Victor de Beer and Vincent Potgieter (twice), but Burton Weakley was successful with just one conversion.

The FNB Invitational XV thrashed St David’s 32-11 thanks to a hat-trick of tries from Danie Cilliers and one each from Ashlon Davids and Dugald Williams. Jacques Rossouw kicked three conversions and a penalty. For St David’s, Steph Nicolau scored a try and slotted two penalties.

St Stithians edged Windhoek 17-13 after leading 14-13 at the break. The hosts’ points came from Madoda Gamede’s try and four penalties from Morgan Ferguson. Daniel Arries scored Windhoek’s try with Johan Deysel kicking a conversion and two penalties.
