‘Positive start’ to RWC ticket sales

Fans have applied for 90 000 World Cup tickets after the first six hours of sales.

Applications for 2011 World Cup Tickets in New Zealand opened on Tuesday, and already supporters wanted 25 000 Venue and Team Pool Packs, which equates to a total of roughly 90 000 match tickets. Rugby New Zealand 2011 CEO Martin Snedden said they had received applications for over NZD $40m (R213m) worth of tickets from the global public and the local rugby community, venue box holders and members and provincial union season ticket holders.

‘It’s early days, but we are really happy with the response from fans,’ said Snedden. ‘For us, going global on Tuesday was a big step into the unknown so to see fans, literally within minutes, start to flood us with applications was a fantastic moment.

‘This is only day one and we know we have a long way to go, but we are pleased to have made such an incredibly positive start.’

Applications for the first phase of ticketing for Venue and Team Pool Packs closes on 21 May.

    Ladies

dont forget to tick the option for QterFinal W/e – in either Christchurch or Welington (SA fans) – in the SAME Application for your Venue-pack or Team-pack ! You can NOT apply for QterFinal tickets in a separate Application.

An option for Bok fans is to take a combo of:-

    (a) North Harbour Venue pack -3 matches incl 2 X Bok matches + 1 x France match.

    and

    (b) Wellington Venue pack – 5 matches incl 2 X Bok matches + 1 X NZ, Aus & Fr match.

If I had to choose ?

The Wellington option looks great, fun party town. But surely there’s more Safa mates to doss with at the North Harbour option ?
