Carter cleared

Dan Carter will start in the All Blacks’ match against Wales on Saturday after passing a late fitness test.

Carter was a concern heading into the second Test in Hamilton after sitting out practice sessions earlier this week with a calf injury. Aaron Cruden was expected to start at pivot, which would’ve seen Luke McAlister, who was a late call-up to the squad this week, feature on the bench.

However, Carter took full participation in the All Blacks’ training on Thursday near Waikato Stadium. During the 90 minutes, Carter trained without any discomfort and practised his goal kicking.

    I thought Wilko was ‘the Man’ ?

    @Fern(Fern)-2:

    and here you thought you had the outright monopoly on Stupid.

    Dans been looking sharp. Its a welcome sight but one swallow don’t make a summer.
    Certainly look better this time this year than last ; the ABs.

    @lapoftherugbygods(lapoftherugbygods)-4: that’s because they’re playing 14 man Ireland and Wales B as opposed to France.

    #4 Is that not what we all said after the ab’s beat the lions some time back and then got destroyed by the boks, ouch!

    @pompies(pompies)-6:

    The Lions were in 05′, NZ won the Tri Nations in 06/07/08 so your timing is a little off.

    @Big Hit(Big Hit)-5:

    The last time we played France in France we thumped them.

    @NZINCHINA(NZINCHINA)-8: and last time France were in NZ they drew a series, point is NZ’s pre-season is easier than last year’s.

    Do you mean France B, who recently played SA A ?

    So hard to know when the goalposts move so often, BH.

    So which Engl team was it who lost to the Maoris ?

    actually, dont bother……..any excuse will do, I suppose.

    @Big Hit(Big Hit)-9: Rather focus on that pathetic team of yours! Wallabies lost test rather England winning it! The rugby team is just as abhorred as your football team!

    @Mighty Horua(Mighty Horua)-11:

    Not strictly correct.

    Lots of football fans of neutral nations love the Engl football team, myself incl.

    On the contrary, Im not sure you can ever say that about their rugby team.

    @Black Panther(Black Panther)-10: just telling it how it is BP, be difficult not to look decent at home to a 14 man Ireland and the worst Wales team in years. Let’s see how they go against proper opposition before getting too excited.

    @Mighty Horua(Mighty Horua)-11: nah we won it, away from home at the end of a long post-Lions series, deal with it chump!

    #8 I think not, the mighty all blacks had a fantastic series against the lions and thought they were the best rugby team on the planet and had their first game against decent opposition and lost. I think that was a 22-16 loss to the boks. We are not on about nothing else so go join an all black web site so you can all carry on about how good your team is, lol end of story.

    Who cares, AB’s still number one. Actually, our world Champion “Baby Blacks’ could easily have accounted for England, Ireland and Wales. The Tri-Nations is more important than playing these rubbish teams from the NH.

    @horiman(horiman)-15: Don’t Australia play in the 3N, didn’t they just lose at home to one of these ‘rubbish’ NH sides?

    SA v NZ will be interesting this year, another 3-0 whitewash coming up?

  • 17.horiman: Reply to this comment

    By one point. Hardly a ground shaking achievement.

    @Big Hit(Big Hit)-16: you wish Big Hit… the loss of FDP is really going to hurt the Boks this 3Ns..

    as well as no F. Steyn to land 60 metre penalties to win it for them… PDV is treading down the path of not knowing his best 22, like GH…

    is bakkies going to be match ready come the 3Ns? Beast is still not the most proficient scrummager, although his cult status should see him included in their squad..

    should be some very close battles, and with SA diasadvantaged by not having the cushy 3 games at home start to the 3Ns, a loss first up may see them struggle thereafter..

    Big Hit,

    Reason why the NH are Rubbish;

    AB’s v’s Eng – Played 33 games – AB’s 26 Eng 6 Avg scores per match AB’s 23.7 Eng 12

    AB’s v’s Ire – Played 22 – AB’s 21 Ire 0 1 game drawn. Avg scores per match AB’s 25.4 Ire 9.6

    AB’s v’s Wales – Played 25 AB’s 22 Wal 3. Avg scores per match, AB’s 29.6 Wales 9.4

    AB’s v’s Scot – Played 27 AB’s 25 Sco 0 … 2 games drawn. Avg scores per match AB’s 28.7 Sco 10.7

    To summarize; Games played v’s NH 107 – AB’s have won 95 and the home nations collectively a paltry 6 with 3 drawn.

    And this is why you guys are rubbish. Bring on Tri-nations.

    Sorry big hit, I was getting carried away;

    AB’s managed ONLY 92 wins for 9 loses and 3 drawn.

    Its not a fantastic record, but given the poor opposition over the last hundred or so years, I don’t think we will quibble about dropping the odd game.

    @Big Hit(Big Hit)-13:

    And precisely who was ‘getting excited’

    I turned the tv off after Kneeslip was carded. When NZ draw Ireland its like the Boks drawing Fiji.

    And very little point fretting about Wales when its the ABs. A close run thing when its either of your teams tho. Give or take ‘injuries….end of season….B teams…..” zzzzzzzzzzz.

    Ever noticed that these excuses only seem to apply to NH teams in SH but not SH teams in NH ?
