I have dealt with people who are ‘successful’ but awful judges of character. Unfortunately they always have one thing in common: they are repulsive w@nkers of the nth order.

By all accounts Div is an affable, likeable chap, something that doesn’t work with a bad judge of character as your major character flaw.

Picking Muir and Gold in the first place sent warning bells, the alarms were ringing loudly and I thought ohfark.

Nice guys don’t always win unfortunately mate.

While that may not be axiomatic fact, it’s true enough to make the point.

We’ve all seen it:

One party folds its grumpy arms, turns down its mouth, and employs the services of a third party to tell the second party that they (the first party) don’t want to play anymore.

Like at a kids’ party, you know?

Argument at the highest level amounts to tiptoeing around eggshells.

But when the first party is wearing a yellow polka dot clown suit and great big red boats for shoes, then tiptoeing becomes a problem,

It wouldn’t be the first party’s own foot in his mouth, it would be the second party’s foot (in the first party’s mouth) or the third party’s foot, or a fourth, or a fifth party’s foot even. The more feet we can get into the first party’s mouth, the better.

Maybe it’ll shut him up.

But we can’t do that, hey? We’re all too polite for that. The first party’s at the highest level, so it could be construed as ‘hate speech.’ We’re at a relative low level here on this blog, so we have to do it by proxy.
