Cheetahs bench Bok
CJ van der Linde will not start for the Cheetahs in their clash with the Sharks in Bloemfontein on Saturday.
The utility prop was made available for Currie Cup selection after the Boks returned from their disappointing Tri-Nations away leg, but Cheetahs head coach Naka Drotske has decided not to make any changes to his starting line-up after their victory against the Bulls in Pretoria last weekend.
Outside centre Robert Ebersohn missed training earlier this week because of illness but has recovered in time to start in the No 13 jersey.
Cheetahs – 15 Hennie Daniller, 14 Philip Snyman, 13 Robert Ebersohn, 12 Corne Uys, 11 Jongi Nokwe, 10 Louis Strydom, 9 Tewis de Bruyn, 8 Ashley Johnson, 7 Juan Smith (c), 6 Hendro Scholtz, 5 Barend Pieterse, 4 Izak van der Westhuizen, 3 WP Nel, 2 Adriaan Strauss, 1 Coenie Oosthuizen
Subs: 16 Skipper Badenhorst, 17 CJ van der Linde, 18 Walti Vermeulen, 19 Kabamba Floors, 20 Tertius Carse, 21 Sias Ebersohn, 22 Meyer Bosman.
Leopards duo banned
Leopards utility back Jean Tiedt and loose forward RW Kember received a one-week ban for dangerous tackles during the 42-23 defeat against Western Province in Potchefstroom last Friday.
Tiedt, who started at fullback, was cited for tip tackle on outside centre Tim Whitehead in the 52th minute while Kember was cited for a high tackle on hooker Deon Fourie 10 minutes later.
Both players pleaded not guilty in their judicial hearings in Johannesburg this week which were chaired by Rob Stelzner. However, they were both found guilty and will miss the Leopards’ match against Griquas on Friday.

Well. No point in benching Shrek Oosthuizen when he’ll be the first choice prop for the Cheetahs in the S14.
With CJ going to the Stormers next season, why bother? He’s an ideal bench guy… (Besides, that’s what he’ll be at the Stormers next season as well)

@Bouts(Bouts)-2: I think you missed something, its Louis, not Coenie, who is called Shrek.
It doesn’t work the same as Bouts does for Botha, you can’t call everybody with the surname Oosthuizen, Shrek.
Coenie is an ogre though, good player.

@coma(coma)-3:
Your reasoning/argument is flawed…fundementally:
Coenie Oosthuizen received the nickname “Shrek” as a grade 8 schoolboy, and has not shaked it off since.

@OUToftheBOKS(OUToftheBOKS)-4: So 2 SA sports people named Shrek Oosthuizen…that IS confusing!
July 30th, 2010 at 3:30 pm
@OUToftheBOKS(OUToftheBOKS)-4: Okay, apologies to Bouts, neither of the two even come close to resembling shrek though, must be some personality characteristics.
