Roux new CEO of Saru
Stellenbosch University’s Jurie Roux was appointed as Saru’s CEO on Friday.
Roux, the senior director of finances and asset management at Stellenbosch University, is currently in the final processes of contract negotiations with his new employers. The General Council accepted the recommendation of Roux from an independent interview panel.
According to a statement by Saru, Roux, 39, has considerable experience of rugby administration and is currently vice-president of the Western Province Rugby Union, a director of the board of Western Province Rugby (Pty) Ltd, chairman of the Stellenbosch University Rugby Football Club and chairman of the Varsity Cup (Pty) Ltd. He is a former Maties fullback.
Roux beat 84 applicants for the job. He will take up the position on 1 September.
‘I regard this role as the pinnacle for any professional involved in South African sport. It has major challenges but also many stimulating opportunities,’ said Roux.

Luke Watson was good enough just to make the Bok squad,why would he ever be good enough to captain them?

Transformation should be scrapped from all levels of rugby in South Africa, including administration, management and coaching. It’s unnecessary and destructive.
