Faingaa banned

Saia Faingaa has copped a two-match suspension for a dangerous tackle in Saturday’s Test between the Wallabies and Springboks.

The replacement hooker spike tackled Flip van der Merwe in the 69th minute, an action that earned the player a yellow card. Faingaa was subsequently cited by Sanzar Citing Commissioner Steve Hinds.

Faingaa appeared before Judicial Officer Nigel Frampton on Sunday and pleaded guilty. Frampton regarded the tackle as reckless rather than intentional, while Faingaa’s guilty plea, his expression of remorse and otherwise impeccable record was taken into account in passing sentence.

He will be suspended from all rugby until September 19.

Folks yesterdays result was a WIN-WIN result. That is strange but true because we saved Deans his bacon and we quite possibly gave the fat boys and PDivvy the bullet for that performance … if you believe Keohane

@RedLion is born again(RL)-52: Mate about the only fact you did not touch on is that the WIN-WIN situation is

Wallabies = WIN & Mr Deans = Birthday Gift / WIN

    Dont see any other positives.

@Boksarenumber4(Boksarenumber1)-55: Deans has a contract and his tenure is to not only coach our Wallabies but to develop structures far beyond the present. ;)

    So far so good. :)

the sooner PDV the clown is fired the better
we will have to wait for after the world cup for that blessed event

Did you guys watch the england aussie world cup womens game?

The Aussie left wing took the england right wing out
with a tackle the ABs would have been proud of

btw are the kiwis playing the Poms for the cup – I think it would only be right that the 2 nations with the fattest and ugliest beast contest for the cup.

I will rather watch the premiership saints vs tigers then afterwards it is frog rugga someone vs Stade Francis … I will leave womens rugga to my kiwi friends and the one or 2 saffas who enjoy the eye candy on show

    @Bok fan(Bok fan)-35:
    Ben Alexander
    Tatafu Polota-Nau
    James Horwill
    Wycliff Palu
    Scott Higginbotham
    Stirling Mortlock
    Digby Ioane
    Peter Hynes
    Cam Shepherd
    Rob Horne

10 players I can think of, 9 of which would be in the matchday 22 if fit.
Even for a country who didn’t struggle with player depth that would be a heavy blow.

And what is with another Saffa getting MOM after another lose? Reminds me of when oz lost the RLWC final and then naming player MOM. But we won the cup so wasn’t too bothered.

Howzit Donut, I was thinking about you when Beale was trying to use his head late in the second half. That must surely count as the falcon of the decade! Then he went on to slot the penalty and all was forgiven…

  • 72.Slartibartfast: Reply to this comment

Oh and congrats on the win too!

  • 73.DonutDunning: Reply to this comment

@Slartibartfast(Slartibartfast)-71: Cheers mate, was nail biting stuff. I know no-one likes a loss, but your boys did damn well to come back from 31-3 down.

I’ll give Beale the benefit of the doubt for now after that blinder of a kick.
But combine his falcon with his passing the ball back over our deadball line (led to JdV’s try off the next scrum), I was about ready to have an aneurysm!

He missed a tackle or two as well…

I read a comment from someone on here…the comeback was great BUT the most capped Bok team ever (?) leading a yound and inexperienced Wallaby team, on the highveld and against 14 men and we still let in 10 points to lose?! Aish, not a lot of positives to be taken from that.

So thats now 3 spear tackles(for the life of me how Genia was not cited) in a row by Aussie players.
So now do we call them a dirty team?

Polatu Nau – better and more aggressive than moore.

Horwill – more aggressive than brown

Ben alexander – better than fatso in every department.

Ioane – adds sting at 13, pushes ashley cooper to 15

Vickerman – due back next year. adds mongrel in the loose. good ball carrier and good at set pieces.

Horne – great defensively – good back up to Ioane.

Hynes – adds bulk and strength at wing.

Hinginbotham – speed and strength at loose forward. can be a good back up or be selected against a fast physical team.
