Faingaa banned
5 Sep 2010
Saia Faingaa has copped a two-match suspension for a dangerous tackle in Saturday’s Test between the Wallabies and Springboks.
The replacement hooker spike tackled Flip van der Merwe in the 69th minute, an action that earned the player a yellow card. Faingaa was subsequently cited by Sanzar Citing Commissioner Steve Hinds.
Faingaa appeared before Judicial Officer Nigel Frampton on Sunday and pleaded guilty. Frampton regarded the tackle as reckless rather than intentional, while Faingaa’s guilty plea, his expression of remorse and otherwise impeccable record was taken into account in passing sentence.
He will be suspended from all rugby until September 19.

He’ll be gone for 2 games.

Man Of the Match performance… thank you Fingers!
5 Sep 2010, 09:02 am
If there is any consistency he’ll be off for a few weeks. I don’t think any of the so-called spear tackles in this year’s Trinations has warranted suspensions but there needs to be an evenhanded approach to all players.

Silly bugga could have pulled out but the dope kept going. It was clear Flip was going to ground, Rocky was there the assist/pilfer… so the brainfart will get him 2 deserved weeks.
He has performed this year remarkably well and will learn from the experience Mr Deans has afforded him.

Keo’s log has the Wallabies with only 1 bonus point. They scored 4 tries in the first half hour this weekend and they did the same a week earlier. That makes in two bonus points earned in the last fortnight alone. That log is wrong.

No intention???
5 Sep 2010, 09:58 am
this poses an interesting dilema now, who will replace him?
5 Sep 2010, 10:09 am
to be honest i felt he is unlucky to be banned as he isnt a dirty player and the tackler wasnt to bad i thought the yellow was enough
u wont often hear me stick up for a convict
but an aussie being banned is insane as they get away with murder
5 Sep 2010, 10:18 am
@SAussie/QldRed(SAussie)-7: Can Smit play for the Aussies? Please
5 Sep 2010, 10:19 am
to be honest i thought chilli played ok last night for the short time he was on
5 Sep 2010, 10:33 am
@goyougoodthing2(goyougoodthing2)-9: We might need him, The scary reality for both of us is how good the AB’s are at the moment, its not to say our teams are bad, we still could thrash most other teams in the world but up against the men in black, thats a different story,
Aus is lucky as we have two more games against our traditional rivals, more time to test ourselves against the undisputed best, then we tour the North
5 Sep 2010, 10:35 am
i really hope the boks can get the grand slam at the end of the year hopefully with new blood in the team the boks will bounce back
5 Sep 2010, 10:38 am

i just wish they hadnt banned rucking
5 Sep 2010, 10:42 am
@klippies101(klippies101)-12: now blood would be good, stuff the old guys, give your in form young guys a run, you might drop a few in the short term but you will be laughing in the long run

5 Sep 2010, 10:59 am
@SAussie/QldRed(SAussie)-11: the MIB are licking their lips, they want to make it 10 and then 11 straight victories over the cons stretching their overall match wins to 67 vs 29.
5 Sep 2010, 11:02 am
I am surprised that the boks 17 was not cited for the shoulder charge straight after the spear tackle!!
5 Sep 2010, 11:08 am
@RedLion is born again(RL)-17: And I think they will do it, We havent the team the match them, not this year, next year, hopefully with a less injuries, we will
5 Sep 2010, 11:17 am
to be honest i didnt see the shoulder charge
5 Sep 2010, 11:33 am
Winning is habit. Unfortunately, so is losing. -Vince Lombardi
the boks really need to do some sole searching
5 Sep 2010, 11:43 am
Best thing that could have happened to the Wallabies
Not only is Saia Faingaa a poor lock but he is mentally challenged, wonder if coach Dean finally gets it?
5 Sep 2010, 11:44 am
@Boksarenumber4(Boksarenumber1)-22: a lock?
Perhaps you the 1 mentally challenged?
5 Sep 2010, 11:48 am
@Boksarenumber4(Boksarenumber1)-22: Fingers is a HOOKER… Omg are you on the tik?
5 Sep 2010, 11:49 am

5 Sep 2010, 11:56 am
@Boksarenumber4(Boksarenumber1)-22: a lock?
Perhaps you the 1 mentally challenged?
lol nice one
5 Sep 2010, 12:01 pm
@wallabie.(wallabie.)-18: Jaa I saw that as well , it was not different from the shoulder charge on De Jongh by Franks a few weeks prior though.
5 Sep 2010, 12:07 pm
I thought Smit had a very good game yesterday , he hardly looked out of steam like previously , maybe the knowledge that he only needs to go for 60 mins meant that he did not need to hold back ? anyway , a rest would do him well , once again we saw his value as a leader yesterday , Aussies scored all their points when he went off , coincidence ? He just needs to be that captain throughout the game cos he certainly was not in the first half !
I hope the anti Smit Brigade would shut up now , their continual attack on a man who has bled and sacrificed so much for his country is disgusting , Its one thing to be critical of the man but to attack him week in and week out like that is cowardice and reeks of small d i c k syndrome.Next year he will lead us into the WC with distinction and they can all disappear.

@sparticus(sparticus)-30: bissy 100 times better.
And you know it.
5 Sep 2010, 12:11 pm
@Boksarenumber4(Boksarenumber1)-22: LOL , guess thats it for u then , ironically u expose urself !!
5 Sep 2010, 12:14 pm
@grant10(grant10)-31: O , I will indulge , explain please , does he lead better ? Give away fewer penalties ? Knock on less ? Or is he just fitter and in better shape seeing that Smit has played non stop top class rugby the last 2-3 years.
Smit can rest and get into shape but can Bissy control his aggression ? Get better hands ? Lead the Boks ? Not give away penalties ?
5 Sep 2010, 12:21 pm
@wallabie.(wallabie.)-18: Me too, saw that and thought he would get a citing.
5 Sep 2010, 12:37 pm
Sorry guys but who are all these Aussies that are injured and will make the team vastly different next year. Mortlock is always injured and I think you missing a prop or 2 but other than that I’m not sure whose out?
5 Sep 2010, 12:38 pm
@goyougoodthing2(goyougoodthing2)-34: No citing , same thing happened when Franks shouldered charged De Jongh , at least they consistent this time.
5 Sep 2010, 12:41 pm
@sparticus(sparticus)-33: i wont indulge….you know your rugby…..so deep down we dont have to debate…..
5 Sep 2010, 12:43 pm
@sparticus(sparticus)-36: Maybe consistency in this regard isn’t a goodthing.
5 Sep 2010, 12:44 pm
@grant10(grant10)-37: LOL , nice copout. Yes deep down we all know. I just at least try and back up my statements.
5 Sep 2010, 12:46 pm
@goyougoodthing2(goyougoodthing2)-38: I feel it is , otherwise it would fuel the conspiracy theories out there that the Ref are out to get the boks and take focus off our real problems , besides that , how can it not be that one set of rules apply to one team but not for another ?
5 Sep 2010, 12:48 pm
@klippies101(klippies101)-21:
Klippies – “he boks really need to do some sole searching”
I’m not having a “go” at your language here (cos if your 1st language isn’t English, then your English is 100x better than my Afrikaans), but whatever way you look at you’re right!
“Soul” – yes, they really do need to take a good hard look at what they are each bringing to the team (as John Smit himself is reported as saying).
“Sole” – yes, they need a good kick up the backside
“Sole” – yes, a spot of fishing is probably what many of them need!
5 Sep 2010, 13:08 pm
@grant10(grant10)-23:
LOL its a typo
5 Sep 2010, 13:10 pm
@Boksarenumber4(Boksarenumber1)-42: hokker or plontrow would be a typo , but lock for a hooker ? Jaa right.
5 Sep 2010, 13:10 pm
@sparticus(sparticus)-33:
Agreed.
Bissy would be one of my 3 hookers at the WC. He’s fantastic in the loose – when he’s not giving away penalties or succumbing to the red mist and trying to take off someone’s head after the whistle’s gone. Much in the same mould as Bakkie, he is. As for his scrummaging – slightly suspect there, too. Long back, easier for opposition hookers to get under him.
5 Sep 2010, 13:14 pm
Saia Faingaa should be dropped forever from the Wallabies.
Reckon he is on steroids and that brain of his just doesnt work.
At loftus he was horrific
Moore has what it takes
5 Sep 2010, 13:17 pm
@sparticus(sparticus)-43:
Lol WTF is “hokker”
5 Sep 2010, 13:20 pm
@Boksarenumber4(Boksarenumber1)-46: That would be an example of a typo. Not lock as you said , u made a mistake , exposed ur limited knowledge , own up , dont try and cover it up.
5 Sep 2010, 13:30 pm
@Boksarenumber4(Boksarenumber1)-46:
Its just a bit further up the alphabet than “fokker”.
5 Sep 2010, 13:31 pm
@sparticus(sparticus)-47:
Yea i wondered how i typed in the word lock but i couldnt figure it out, ok so tell us whats a hokker?
5 Sep 2010, 13:32 pm
@BillTong(BillTong)-48:
Lmao thanx
