SACS deny foul play

SACS have said that the Primrose U15A player who claimed foul play in a weekend match was ‘legally cleaned’.
They went further to say the player, Imran Fredericks (14), was guilty of serious foul play in the lead up to the incident.
In a text message to keo.co.za, SACS coach Grant Ball said video evidence will show Fredericks eye-gouging their player before he was legally cleaned. He called reports that were circulating in the press, in which Fredericks and Primrose officials claim their player was stomped on, ‘crap’.
Fredericks left the field with a broken nose, cut eye, mild concussion, bruises and swelling. Fredericks was taken to City Park Hospital after leaving the field and then lodged a complaint of assault at Claremont police station on Sunday. However, he was told that the WPRU would have to deal with the case first as it involved two minors during an organised rugby game.
WP general manager of youth rugby Theo Kleynhans confirmed the union will start with their investigation this week.
‘We are aware of the incident and we will investigate the matter,’ Kleyhans told keo.co.za on Monday. ‘But we will have to get the full story from both sides. We can’t just react after hearing things from one team. We will also see if we can get proper evidence, like video recordings and eye witnesses.’
Kleynhans added that foul play wasn’t a major problem in WP junior rugby.
‘This is a rare incident and it will be sorted out. We had a matter last season where a boy hit a referee but that was dealt with accordingly. I wouldn’t say there is a problem with discipline in junior rugby in the WP region.’

The above quotes are not a statement from SACS and were said in a personal sms to Ryan Vrede, who has shown his journalistic integrity by taking off-the-record comments and quoted me without my permission.
To clear up (which again shows the amount of research and factual correctness of this keo.co.za article), I’m not the coach of SACS U15A.
The matter will be investigated by WP Youth Rugby, who have all the video evidence and statements from all parties at their disposal . Hopefully their investigation will be handled swiftly with the final outcome that the truth comes out. I have no doubt SACS will be exonerated.

i would love to know how this boy obtained all those injuries.
things have changed these days from the past but my experience with schoolboy rugby was that things seldom got to a stage which warranted any concern.

Ryan a good friend of mine gave me this solid advice – be careful how u treat people on ur way up , cos u bound to meet them on ur way down. U have officially scooped down to mark and simons levels congrats.
Now to the matter at hand , did u guys see the face of this youngster ? Its on iol and the argus. Is SACS seriously gonna turn this around and say he eye gouged one of their players ? How did he sustain such injuries ? And where is the player he eye gouged ? Can we see the results please. I would love to have access to the video footage.

Where there is smoke there is fire…………no one gets worked over for f u k all. Has to be a reason. Don’t play with fire if you can’t handle the heat………add any further cliches that may fit………….
