Pollard impressed with Faf’s decision making
Springbok flyhalf Handre Pollard has said he was impressed with his scurmhalf partner Faf De Klerk’s decision making in the past series win against England.
Pollard and De Klerk established themselves as the Springbok front runners, starting as the halfback pairing in the first two tests against England and guiding the Boks to their 2-1 series win.
De Klerk, who played 11 tests for the Boks in 2016, fell out of favour in 2017. Subsequently, he moved to Sale Sharks to become one of their star performers and earning a Springbok recall from new Springbok director of rugby Rassie Erasmus.
“I think Faf’s matured a lot as a player,” Pollard told Netwerk24. “He returned from England a much better player, especially with regards to his decision making.”
Pollard “thoroughly enjoyed” playing alongside De Klerk, saying as “He’s definitely one of the quickest scrumhalves I’ve played with. He also has a good boot. It’s good for us as a team. I think we understood each other well in the first two Tests.”
