Combrink still eyes Bok Jersey
With the blossoming of back three talent in South Africa in 2018, Ruan Combrink, plagued with injury has been somewhat forgotten. However the powerful outside back is set on regaining the Bok jersey which he wore on 7 occasions in 2016.
Combrink has been unable to add to his seven caps as he’s faced an ongoing struggle with injury, but his desire to do so remains strong. Telling Netwerk24 “It will always be a dream to again play for the Springboks. It’s a very special feeling to run out in that jersey.”
The winger/fullback made his return at 15 for the Golden Lions in their SuperSport challenge against the Blue Bulls last weekend, and his focus is now set on getting back into the Lions Super Rugby side (who sit at the top of the South African conference).
The Lions face the Sharks this weekend and welcome a wealth of returning talent into their squad for the clash, with hooker Malcolm Marx and captain and 8th man Warren Whiteley some notable additions
