Expect to see Willie and Faf in the Springbok mix come June
Rassie Erasmus has made it clear that he sees value in certain overseas- based players, namely Faf De Klerk and Willie Le Roux, among others. However the duo are backed not only by the new Bok coach, but by writers and critics abroad too, having made The Guardian newspaper’s Premiership Super Team.
De Klerk, who has featured in every match for Sale Sharks and has been made their player of the year, has been praised for his high work rate and huge impact on the side. He has also taken over the goal kicking. The new dimensions and experience added to his game will only benefit the Boks, who are notably low on scrum half stocks as it stands.
According to the Guardian, Le Roux has contributed towards 21 tries in the last 19 matches for Wasps. His versatility and experience in terms of back three play will also had huge value to the Springbok outside backs.
Expect to see both players back in Bok colours come June, and expect them to make an impact.
Six SA-born players made the publication’s team, among them former Stormers & England loose-forward Don Armand.
