Rassie to potentially double up as Bulls coach
Springbok Director of Rugby Rassie Erasmus is reportedly being linked to am coaching role at the Bulls.
According to Netwerk 24, Erasmus approached the Bulls offering his services. This report coincides with those of John Mitchell’s departure to England to take over as defensive coach.
The proposal was apparently well received by the Pretoria-based franchise, with the report adding that he had already informed his bosses of his plans.
Should a deal take fruition, Erasmus would temporarily coach the Bulls at Super Rugby level while simultaneously fulfilling his duties for SA Rugby.
The role would allow Erasmus closer contact with the likes of Duane Vermuelen- who is reportedly set to join the franchise along with Schalk Brits- as well Springboks Jesse Kriel, Handre Pollard, Warrick Gelant and Lood De Jager, and young talents Marco Van Staden, Embrose Papier and RG Snyman.
Furthermore, Mitchell’s departure seems confirmed with reports earlier in the week that the England RFU and the Bulls were negotiating a transfer fee of around R4 million (£218 000)
