Australia captain Patu banned for biting international team-mate
Liz Patu has pleaded guilty to biting Australia team-mate Rebecca Clough on Saturday, prompting a six-week ban.
Australia captain Liz Patu has been banned for six weeks after biting international team-mate Rebecca Clough in a Super W match.
The Queensland star faced a disciplinary hearing on Monday following the incident during Saturday’s match against Clough’s Rugby WA.
Patu pleaded guilty and will now miss the remainder of the Super W season.
Queensland assistant coach Tyrell Barker said in a statement: “Liz has expressed her remorse and extends an apology to the player in question, the Rugby WA women’s team, her own team-mates and the wider rugby public.
“Behaviour like this is unacceptable in our game and we support the suspension handed down by the judiciary.”
