Ambitious London Irish sign Australia lock Coleman
Adam Coleman will join Waisake Naholo, Sekope Kepu, Paddy Jackson and other new signing at London Irish in the Premiership next season.
Premiership-bound London Irish have pulled off another big coup by signing Australia lock Adam Coleman from the Rebels.
Coleman is the latest high-profile acquisition for the ambitious Exiles as they prepare for a return to the top flight after winning the Championship title.
New Zealand wing Waisake Naholo, Australia trio Sekope Kepu, Curtis Rona and Nick Phipps, Perpignan fly-half Paddy Jackson, Ireland flanker Sean O’Brien and Scotland prop Allan Dell have also agreed to join London Irish next season.
Second row Coleman, 27, will move to England after the Rugby World Cup in Japan.
“I’m really looking forward to joining London Irish,” said Coleman. “It’s been clear talking to Declan [Kidney, director of rugby] and Les [Kiss, head coach] that they’ve got big ambitions for the club, and as well as a good squad already in place, they are making some exciting signings as well.
“The plans for moving back into London look really good as well, and it will be a privilege to be a part of that journey.
“Before I move to London I’ll be fully committed to having a good Super Rugby campaign in Melbourne and hopefully helping Australia achieve success in the World Cup.”
