SACS Sizzle
SACS scored a late try to snatch victory against Selborne in the Western Cape Schools week at Rondebosch Boys High. Grey High also won.
Very little separated the Western and Eastern Cape teams in four of the five matches. The only exception was Stellenberg High’s comfortable win against Muir College.
Hosts Rondebosch and Dale College played to a 27-all draw in the final match of the day.
SACS are enjoying arguably their finest season in the school’s rich rugby history and not for the first time this year won through a late rally.
It is a credit to the pre-season fitness programme of 2007 Springbok World Cup-winning coach Steve McIntyre and the coaching of Nick Maurer.
Selborne are an outstanding side, whose conquests this season include Grey College.
SACS have lost only once this year in 15 matches. They play Grey High on Monday. Grey edged Boland Landbou 18-17.
Queens College came from behind to beat Wynberg Boys High.
