Toulouse rout Bayonne to extend winning run
Toulouse have hit form and made light work of Bayonne at home, while Brive defeated Stade Francais.
Top 14 champions Toulouse claimed a fourth straight victory in all competitions on Sunday, hammering 13-man Bayonne 45-10.
Toulouse have endured a mixed start to the domestic campaign, winning every home game but losing each away match.
That trend continued at home to Bayonne, with this triumph on December 1 following a spotless November in which they also won twice in the European Champions Cup.
The result was scarcely in doubt this time, as Toulouse led through tries from Sofiane Guitoune and Matthis Lebel, before Mat Luamanu became the first Bayonne man dismissed.
Clement Castets added to the score and, although Aymeric Luc got Bayonne’s first try, Gillian Galan soon got in on the act as well.
Filimo Taofifenua followed Luamanu to the dressing room early before Paulo Tafili’s score and a penalty try completed the rout.

In the day’s early game, Brive held off a fightback from basement side Stade Francais to win 26-21.
Nicolas Sanchez kicked the first points of the match for Stade, but they did not score again until Julien Delbouis’ try on the stroke of half-time, by which point Brive had crossed through Axel Muler and Karlen Asieshvili, building a big lead.
Kylan Hamdaoui’s score on 62 minutes set up an intriguing finish, but Stade left themselves too much to do.
