As Schalk Brits waits to discover his fate, Armand van der Merwe has been suspended for three weeks following their brawl on Saturday.
Armand van der Merwe has been banned for three weeks following his brawl with Schalk Brits during the Sharks’ 19-16 Super Rugby defeat to the Bulls.
Sharks hooker Van der Merwe punched fellow South Africa forward Brits in an altercation at a ruck at Kings Park on Saturday.
Both players were sent off following the incident in the second half of the derby clash.
Van der Merwe was on Monday suspended for three weeks, ruling him out of encounters with the Lions, the Jaguares and the Reds.
Brits will face a SANZAAR Judicial Committee hearing on Tuesday discover his punishment.
Meanwhile, Blues wing Tanielu Tele’a has been suspended for four weeks for tackling Stormers full-back Dillyn Leyds while he was in the air during a 24-9 victory for the Auckland side.
