Goosen believes Bok days are over
Former Springbok utility back Johan Goosen, currently plying his trade in France, believes his international playing days are over.
Goosen made his return to rugby this year after controversially and abruptly retiring at the end of 2016. He currently plays for Montpellier in France.
Playing the last of his 13 tests in November 2016, Goosen in speaking to Netwerk 24, said he was realistic about his international ambitions.
“To be honest, I don’t think I’ll ever play for the Springboks again,” said Goosen.
“The players who are currently there are doing really well and it’s nice to see the Boks play good rugby. I’ll do anything for the Bok jersey, but it will be tough to get a spot in the team with the players currently there. You have to be honest with yourself…”
Goosen is currently out injured, with Montpelier announcing he will be sidelined for 2 months with an ankle injury.
