Lions strengthened by wealth of returning players
Among many other players coming back from injuries, the Lions cause will be strengthened namely by returning Springboks Malcolm Marx and Warren Whiteley.
Both Whiteley and Marx are back from and extended period on the sideline after getting through a SuperSport challenge game with the Golden Lions unscathed, and are set to play huge roles as the Lions approach the knock out stages of the Super Rugby tournament.
Both Lionel Mapoe and Cyle Brink are also available for selection again ahead of the Sharks derby this weekend.
The Lions are spoilt for Springbok options ahead of the weekend with the availability of Ruan Dreyer, Kwagga Smith, Ross Cronje, who is also fit again after spending a long time on the sidelines, Courtnall Skosan, Andries Coetzee and Ruan Combrinck.
Courtnal Skosan is also set to return from injury which has thus far prevented him from taking part in Super Rugby this season. So the Lions, in terms of regulars, will only be missing Jaco Kriel and Rohan Janse Van Rensburg who are suffering long term injuries.
