Nkosi to potentially miss Rugby Championship with ankle sprain
S’bu Nkosi’s fitness for the Rugby Championship is in doubt at as the outside back has been sidelined with an ankle injury.
The Sharks confirmed, when naming their side to face the Jaguares on Saturday, that Nkosi will be sidelined for 8-12 weeks after scans indicated the winger has a syndesmosis sprain of his left ankle.
Nkosi was integral in the Springboks series win against England and his absence will be felt.
In a best-case scenario, Nkosi will return to the field on September 8 for the Boks’ away clash against the Wallabies in Brisbane.
A worst-case scenario however will see him return for the Boks’ final match against the All Blacks at Loftus Versfeld on October 6.
