Bulls hopeful that Springboks will remain post RWC
The Bulls boast a Springbok-laden Super Rugby side this year, ahead of the 2019 Rugby World Cup, but are hopeful that they will retain these players for the following season.
Bulls CEO Alfonso Meyer is hopeful that the franchise’s Boks will remain into the 2020 season, saying:
“If players get an offer, we have a time frame of two weeks to make a counter-offer.”
“Up until now, there have not been any offers that have been brought to our attention.”
The Springbok core of Bulls players in Handre Pollard(flyhalf), Jesse Kriel (centre), and Trevor Nyakane (prop) Lood de Jager (lock), who have beens signed to the franchise for while, are approaching the ends of their contracts which expire in October.
Another player whom Meyer and the Franchise would wish to hold onto is 2019 season signing Duane Vermuelen. “He has signed a two-year contract in Japan but at this stage there’s not certainty regarding the Japanese season next year,” said Meyer.
