Bulls eye Brits
The Bulls are reportedly interested in the services of recently internationally-recalled Springbok Hooker Schalk Brits.
The 37 year old was a surprise inclusion in Erasmus’ Bok squad for the June series against England, having announced his retirement from all rugby earlier in the year. His last test being played at the 2015 World Cup (prior to his involvement in the final test against England at Newlands).
While Brits had retired, his recall gives reason to believe that he is committed to the Springboks for now having recently said he would have discussions with the Erasmus regarding the possibility of him playing in next year’s Rugby World Cup in Japan.
In light of this, The Bulls have reportedly expressed interest in the hooker. This also follows the recent announcement of former Bok hooker and captain Adriaan Strauss’ retirement from all rugby. According to Network24, the Bulls view Brits as a potential successor to Strauss.
Meanwhile, the Pretoria side has also expressed interest in Springbok number 8 Duane Vermeulen.
